Default Stamping Vintage Style and Choosing Vintage Colors

I've been very interested for quite some time in stamping some vintage cards, albeit I do not really own any vintage style stamps, I believe I should be able to give any stamped image a vintage look.

So, when you think 'vintage', what colors come to mind? If you know of any tutorials, please send them my way. Thank you!

Stampingly yours

Golds, browns, black, grey and sometimes a little reddish color is what I think of. Basically think neutral, almost mono-tone stamping.

You are very talented, I know you can do it! Hope to see what you come up with.

Hi, AQ ~

I recommend you browse ChipBlue's art gallery (aka Debi Wind).... her talent for coordinating images with beautiful background papers and other embellishments brings "vintage to mind" to me. I agree with SS about the color choices for vintage, and I would add "rose" to the color swatch. [Oops.... I see that she already said "reddish" color - so, rose is close, right?]

I think you can make a lot of stuff look vintage just by making it look aged. Like with Distress Ink Old Paper.

Sponging, lots and lots of sponging along the edge of card stock and paper will make anything look aged and distressed.

Just recently, I found this site:

Vintage Rose Designer Paper Tutorial

I'm using this technique on my ATC Book swap and am thoroughly enjoying the look I am achieving!
