Resist Mist Technique

1. Stamp your image with embossing ink or VersaMark, and cover with clear embossing powder and heat.

2. Spray Mists over the stamped image.

3. When happy with the results, if necessary take a very dry-damp cloth and wipe over the embossed image. Any remaining Mists will wipe off the image.

Option: For the Batik Technique, skip #3 above. Instead cover the Misted/Stamped image with computer paper and use a hot iron (cotton setting) and place down on protected card to melt the embossing powder onto the computer paper. Lift iron and set in another area, if necessary. If the paper lifts off easily, the embossing powder is melted. If it doesn't, cover again with computer paper and set your iron back down on the paper for a couple more seconds.

Resist Mist Sample: Whimsical Flower from Innovative Stamp Creations.

Thanks for these links, Stampo. Great tip about drying the Mists when changing colors so the colors don't muddy!

I really enjoyed seeing your store. I had no idea it was so big.

I also didn't know you can make custom embossing powders with the clear ep and alcohol inks. Another great tip.

Thanks for the video link(s).
Deb, I've been to the store. I was like a shark in a feeding frenzy - lol. So, go to Vegas, go to the store first before you lose all your money, and then if you have any left, you can gamble - lol. I actually did that. Unfortunately Stampo wasn't there at the time. I live in NY so I can't just pop in but the next time, I'll try to go when you're there Stampo. Love your store, loved your cats. Two of my favorite things in this world....animals and shopping for craft things.
