Question Tags, Now what to do with them

I thougt it would be a good idea to brain storm on ways to use all those tags we've made before they pile up and take over our creative spaces.

The obvious is to add a "to/from" and attach to gifts. You can also give them as gifts or slide them into the pocket of a card you made but both of these options really go back to the original question, you have a tag... now what.

If your suggestion is "display" them, great!! HOW would you display them?

any more ideas??

Since I couldn't figure out what to do with the tags I made for another site, I cut off the top and glued them to card fronts. Sometime I trimed the card and tag to make the same size. You couldn't tell that is what I did. I use lots of cards, 5 kids, 15 grandkids, lots of birthdays, etc.

Loop a ribbon through the top and hang them on your Christmas tree or from your fireplace mantle.

Include them in a card you send to someone as a small gift.

Attach them to a pretty ribbon or string and hang them on the wall, like a banner.

Arrange them on various sizes of canvases and you've got instant art.

You can do the same thing in a picture frame.

Use them as bookmarks. They make great stocking stuffers.

Make a book out of them is what came to mind. Another use is to make matchbooks out of them and then staple/glue a tablet of paper to the inside to make it into a notepad. If they already have a hole in one end, punch a hole in the other end and lace them together to make a garland for your Christmas tree.

Talking

I just joined 'RSC' & already feel 'at home' after looking over the forums.

Just happens that I've signed up to do a monthly tag swap for 2013. We're bettin' the Mayans got it wrong--or their calendar maker was funnin' with them! Anyhoo...

For our swap we have to use rectangular hang tags, but we're not required to hang them or even include a hanger.

That means we can make tag projects that are tabletop-friendly. 2 ideas I want to do are making a gatefold tag & a triptych tag.

While this triptych was not done with tags, I figure it might give you some idea of what I'm talking about.

I made this with from stamps from I Brake For Stamps (IBFS). Fun thing about connecting multiple (hang) tags? I could easily turn it into a 3D ornament & such by gathering all the hangers so the project hangs from a central point.

Thanx, Stacy. Here's another take on tags.

A friend sent me a bunch of tags that she had done with Distress Inks. I added the stamping & turned them into a fan.

Now that is an original idea! We Texans can certainly use something like that during our 100 degree plus summers.

Did you attach some ribbon or something across the back to keep them from spanning out too far?
