Default Making stamps w/a dot-screen

hi, i had seen a wholesale company at trade show a few years ago that created custom for others using a dot-screen method. i'm looking to create my own stamps, but not by hand/using a carving method, i want to use the photographic method, only those units seem to run for hundreds of dollars(art-rubberstamps dot com), and plus i would like to be able to create the stamps with a dots-screen as well. anyone have any other stamp-making kit suppliers who are less expensive(much less expensive-not $20bucks less). thanks.

JoAnn's used to & still may carry a do-it-yourself stamp making kit that used your photos to make polymer stamps. I don't remember the exact price, but it was under $50. I don't know anything about the dot process.
