Default Another Beautiful Technique for Prismacolor Pencils! PLUS...

It seems that I'm always looking for techniques to utilize my 132pc set of Prismacolor pencils.

This one's a beauty and I think I've come up with some ideas for outside of floral. I'm also trying to come up with a plan on how I can use this technique for Christmas cards...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hb4vJuza_k

But WAIT!!! There's MORE...

As I continued to watch this vid, Jennifer goes on to explain her 'ombre' technique which is the verbiage in different hues of grey. For the longest time, I've been rather stumped as to how to utilize my 48pc set of Tim Holz Distress Inks! It looks like the 'code' may have been cracked!!!

This is so COOL!!! I can hardly wait to play!!!!

I've used white for highlighting, but I'm laughing because I think I have every brand of white pencils except Prismacolor. Time to try them out, too.

Wow, Lady K! You must have a love for white pencils. Do you have a specific use for each one of them?

Although she suggests Crayola, from experience and having called Crayola's customer service, the lead on Crayolas aren't pure and will scratch the paper's surface.

If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby, they sell individual Prismacolor pencils.

I have Derwent watercolour pencils. I am going to see if they can be used for these techniques.

At one point, I had some Derwent watercolor pencils, but they were too chalky for my liking. I do hope they work for you, Susan. Would love to know what the outcome is for you.

All of my white pencils come from sets. I have a Staedler watercolor white, which is nicely blendable, and a regular one, which is less soft but good for highlighting and coloring on colored cardstock. I also have Studio Series, Crayola, and an old set that has been sharpened to so much that the name is gone.

Lady K, do you use pencil extenders?

Pencil extenders are not something I know anything about. What are they?

Instead of throwing away pencils that have become too short to handle, a pencil extender is used. From my understand (as I don't own any either) is that the short pencil is slipped into an extender case and secured making it easier to use that piece of pencil.

Here's some additional info:

Ah, I hadn't seen them before, but they seem to be a good idea.
