Default Demonstrations

I am going to be a Papercraft Demonstrator at the Washington State Fair in September on 4 different days.
I don't know what to do. I don't have a business, but I can't sell anything if I did have one.
My thought is just show how to use the papercrafting tools. If people ask where to get the tools I can name off the stores in their area, as I know most all of them in Western Washington.
I was thinking of a make & take, but it would have to be a quick one as I think there is only room for 2 maybe 3 at the table.
Got any ideas????

My friends are always quite impressed with silver or gold embossing powder, especially when it's embossed on a dark cardstock. Maybe an ATC-size "Happy Birthday" to be added to a birthday card? (Most everybody uses birthday cards.)

A quick, easy demo is using VersaMark & perfect pearls. Looks great on any color CS & stunning on darker CS.

Don, do you have a favorite item you like to make? I'd go with that. Having premade parts helps cut down on the time factor. Having a printed out guideline for the make 'n take is good too. That way it's easier for them to remember. Postcard size is a good size for a make 'n take. Stampland uses that technique at the Heirloom. It's more cost effective as well and you could have the Western Washington stores preprinted on the backs with their city and phone number.

I am going to be there for 2 hr. stints on 4 different days.
Just in case you decide to fly in for the occasion, here is my schedule:
Stage C - September 17, 18, & 25 12:00PM to 2:00 PM and Stage B on the 19th 11:30AM to 1:30PM. I look forward to seeing you there.
I am thinking of taking a die cut machine to cut match boxes. Fold and 3 pieces of tape.
I will also do a playing card box. I will show how to make one as a demonstration.

Sounds like you have a very good plan. Hope to pay you a visit.

I like your ideas. Quick, impressive and easy! Are you thinking of advertising to run classes? That could be something to advertise instead of selling a hard product?

Although I saw where you were set up, I missed you on the 18th by about 15 minutes. Perhaps next year...

Did you have many visitors?

AQ, sad I missed seeing you.
On the 17th I made boxes out of playing cards. Gave away a dozen or so and also some partials so they could try it at home.
On the 18th I made Christmas cards with matching envies. I also folded doilies into trees for the card face. I gave away several cards and a lot of folded doilies.
On the 19th I took my Vagabond and made match boxes. I couldn't keep up. It's difficult for me to cut, tape, and assemble them and talk to people at the same time.
All three days I had ATC's out to give away. I was surprised at the number of men who stopped by. I had a great time.
Next Friday (the 25th) I am going to do the match boxes again, but I have completed 25 to get me started and will have another 25 cut and ready to assemble there. I don't know if I'll take the Vagabond with me ... that thing is heavy.
