Talking Doors & Windows that open.

I don't do it often, but I love making stamped projects that are receiver-interactive Just means that I include parts that can be played with by the person I send it to.

Here's a recent example... The challenge was to use packaging & stamping to make a project. I used the box from saltine crackers to make a recipe folder.

When I sent it to my friend, she didn't realize the 'top' cracker opened. Now she can't keep the door shut.

Anyhoo... Do any of you create doors &/or windows in your pieces? I know there are other forms of 'interactive', but I asking about things that are 'hidden' until the recipient opens them.

Doors are probably the simplest to do. Windows less so, but windowshades & shutters (like doors) are an interesting possibility.

Please share your ideas, comments & examples.

This is so very cute.

I did once decide to use some of the flower print from a tissue box to make an embellie. I cut it to size and added about 4 layers of Ultra Thick embossing powder. It was hard to tell that it was part of a box. I have die-cut some flowers from the colorful areas of cracker and cereal boxes too.

We once did an ATC swap here that had to have something that opened. I opted for a candy box.

There is one thing that Daniel can always do. He always makes me hungry, lol. Now, I want soup.

Oh my gosh Daniel that is such a cute project. I love the little mouse sliding down the cheese. That is squealing cute. Yes, pun intended.

I enjoy making interactive cards. I have made several interactive cards in the past. I haven't made anything lately unless you count butterflies. I always make my butterfiles dimensional so their wings move. That is pretty standard with me.

Wink

Thanx, All.

Lady K's chocolate box is the sort of 'interactive', I'm referring to--doing something that opens on the piece to hid a 'surprise' inside.

With the 'cracker door' it wasn't obvious that it opened, but I've done pieces where it is obvious that something (not necessarily a door/window stamp) is meant to pe opened. HTH

The father's day cards I did for this year are origami style folded mens shirts. You have to untuck the shirt front to get to the message inside or all you will see is "Happy Father's Day".

I haven't made anything such as that but I did try to make a steampunk flower that moved. It was a little bit beyond my mathing abilities, but it worked.

Yes, your cracker flip is unexpected, Daniel, which makes it's discovery all the more fun. It's a very cute card.

Why not? I can see that those windows are cracked open a bit. Makes me think she is a giant peeking into a house or just a grown person peeking into a doll house.
