Rubber Soul closing

I got an e-mail from the folks at Rubber Soul in Poulsbo, Washington today that said their store would close at the end of the year. Their other Washington store closed two or three years ago.

I don't know if that will affect their stamp lines. The mail didn't say that, but still, it's disappointing.

We were just over on the Peninsula a couple of months ago and saw a stamp store, but I didn't realize that's who that was. Sure sad to see them go.

Sorry to hear that, their customers have my sympathies. I still miss Imprints a year and a half later.

I still miss Rubber Marbles in Auburn, WA & they closed their store front at least 7-8 years ago, before I became a demo! They kept their online store for their line of stamps & embossing powders, but it wasn't the same. Ya' know?

running into the owner & other customers from a now closed store at a convention is a great re-union but not the same either.

I had always wanted to go to the Paper Cat in downtown Seattle, but never made it there. An avid stamping friend and mentor had told me that some landlords had tripled the rent so that there was no way some of those stamping businesses could stay around. Pathetic.

I've been to the Paper Cat and they used to carry my stamps but they were having a hard time in their last few months.

Monkey Love in lower Queen Anne is still open, Roberta! They have a nice variety of stuff that isn't in the local J's & M's. There's also Impress in several locations around the Puget Spund, tho' I prefer Tukwila store as it has more stuff. The pricing is premium at both stores for the most part, but a lot of it is stuff that one would have to order online to get & sometimes I just need to see an item & be able to read the packaging or even play with it before I decide to buy it.

Also, a new craft store just opened in Fed Way!!! They aren't finished stocking the shelves yet, but they have a cafe' on one end & open crafting tables with a cozy corner, complete with electric fireplace & sofas, at the other end & a kids play area too! They'll have a lil bit of everything when done. Crafty treasures for sewing/quilting, jewelry making, scrapbooking, stamping & more!

They're called Craft City Cafe' & they're on the north side of the 356th & 21st AV S intersection. #D

Hot & humid! DIL's family was very nice & it was very interesting to see what life was like in a tropical country with a per capita income of less than $3000 US. (That's the VN Government's goal for 2011, to get the pc up to that amount.) DH & I just kept reminding each other that "We're having an ADVENTURE!" when things got weird.
