Default Batik Technique

The Batik Technique is another very fun technique!

For this technique, you will need glossy cardstock, Versamark Watermark ink, clear embossing powder, dye ink source of your choice (to smear, brayer, spray -- any way you want to add ink over your image) and an iron. Gloves are optional.

- Stamp your image on glossy cardstock, using Versamark Watermark, then clear emboss.
- Add dye ink any way you'd like. I lightly misted my glossy cardstock with water, then sprayed on Memories Mists (Blueberry) and Shimmering Mists (Sky Blue).
- Place a piece of xerox paper on your art and iron with a hot iron/no steam. The paper will absorb some of the ink, but the important thing is that the paper will absorb the melted embossing powder. The paper will lift easily away from your card when the embossing powder is melted.

Voila. Your stamped image is the color of your glossy cardstock, with fabulous color all around it.

Have fun! Feel free to share your creations here!

Thanks so much, Maggie. It is such a fun technique and I keep playing with it, and of course each time the ink does something wonderful!

Default batik technique

As I mentioned above, the ink does marvelous things on the glossy cardstock. I never know what I will get! This is one of the new ATC-size stamps from OnyxXpressions. Love it!

If anyone else would like to post batik photos to this thread, please feel free!
