You all have no idea what a great group of people this is! You are all a joy. Pretty much moderation free. You all make running this place a breeze.

Cindy...I'll be at the Sac show so be sure to come by and introduce yourself. That goes for anyone else attending too.

Also congratulations from Germany, Amy. It was a great idea to bring this side into being and I look as often as possible to the posts and the gallery. I think you will have a lot of success with the virtual convention and all visitors will have big deals. Unfortunately I can't take part, because I'm motorbiking in Italy then. But I wish a lot of fun on the convention as well for the next year RSC

Felicidades Amy!!! I love RSC, it's been my first experience with a stamping chat/forum, and you all have been very kind and helpful. All because of you! TY TY TY!
now, for a dumb question... what is a virtual convention? I need details! And more money of course!

It's not a dumb question! RSC is the home of the Virtual Stamp Convention & this is only the second one, so there are lot of folks out there in stamping land who don't know what it is...YET!!!

The RSC vendor members set up their 'booth' as a thread in the special convention hall Amy sets up just for this event in the The Mall. Then the rest of us have 5 days to go to each & every booth, see what the show special being offered by that company is about (some have special directions to follow, so don't skip the fine print), click the link to the vendor's website & go shopping!!!

Instead of getting up early to drive to the show and walk around all day in a big hall full of people & only have less than healthy food available, you get to wear your jammies, eat REAL food when you want, not wait in line for anything (including the potty) and shop at leisure. I stayed up for 36 hours straight last time. I was having WAY MONDO FUN!!!

Of course, there aren't any make & takes at a virtual show. But most of the vendors do have info about their products and offer tips, techniques & project ideas on their websites. A few even have demo videos to watch! Plus we have a thread (I think it was under Shows & Festivals last time.) where we do show & tell about what we've seen & bought, want to buy or just thought was really kewl.

The booths don't all go up at the same time. They started at 6pm-ish on Thursday night & the last few popped up on Saturday night. So you'll want to check back every so often to see what's new. Also, wishlisting ahead of time will save you time & confusion at the show. Amy has posted a list of RSC vendor members at the top of the Craft Store section with links. So NOW is a good time to start checking out what everybody normally sells & making a tentative shopping list. Not all of the vendors participate, but there were about 25 booths last time.

Granted, all this info is based on last time & is subject to change w/o my knowledge or permission. So we'll all just have to wait & see what Amy & the others have 'in store' for us this time.

Dang wait problem! I wanna go booth hopping NOW!!!

Jenna, thanks so much for your clear explanation of the virtual convention. I had a sort of idea, but you really filled in the details.

You are most welcome, Ingrid!

RSC was at 1000 members at the time of the last Virtual Stamp Con & now there are just over 500 more that didn't get to play last time.

We only have one in person stamp convention in my area each year now. There's at least one in Portland that I know of but that's just a long enough drive that my stampy pals & I don't make the trip every year. So having this virtual show with many vendors that don't make it out here on their show circut is pretty awesome! Plus of course the added benefits of no achy feet, no cramped back muscles from carrying everything & lots of time to browse thru' everything to decide what to buy before wearing out the old magic plastic card.
