Default Need Postcard Ideas for New Marines

I want to create and send a postcard to a nephew who has gone off to Marine basic training, but who also has a birthday. I don't want my postcard to cause him grief, or at least minimum grief. Any ideas on what/how to create? Thanks for any ideas/advice/guidance.

Debra

Here is a link to a card in my gallery that I did last summer for DH's nephew when he went off to Marine basic. http://www.rubberstampchat.net/galle...7616&ppuser=90

I would think most anything patriotic/masculine would be fine. He will be happy to "hear from home". The Marines encourage lots of mail from family be sent so I wouldn't too much worry about what you sent as long as he knows he is being thought of. It's about the connection when they are home sick and/or discouraged.

Oh I have a cute one! It's not a postcard but it will be a hit with a camouflage shirt. Sorry I can't yet post an image or link (since I am new to the group) but you can look up my blog and it is an older post under "origami shirt" tag. It's really a neat card for any military person or family- - -I've used it several times.

The diamond plate embossing folder can be used with aluminum foil to make a background for the starts of a masculine card. Just be sure to adhere the aluminum foil to cardstock before using the embossing folder so that the diamond plate will hold up better.
