I haven't tried it either, thats why I was asking if anyone had. Too bad about your heart folder Inkyjo, I would have been so upset .

I do remember that card board pieces go outside of the embossing folder. Sounds crazy but I saw them do it and it worked.

Yes, I did a long time ago when the first tutorial came out. I haven't done that technique in a while. I did find the tutorial. I found the updated tutorial I should say. I am still looking for the other one on my hard drive. Really, I am not disorganized. I promise. I am reorganizing my notes and I think the tut might have got trashed. I even went searching for it on the old Cricut MB. That was an epic Fail. This one is from Nilda who I am pretty sure wrote the original tutorial.

Here's the updated one: http://thecuttlebugspot.blogspot.com...lebug-and.html

I have Silhouette and Cricut....haven't looked at the zing.....

I prefer to use my machines thru my computer...hate buying cartridges! So I use the silhouette more often and use the Cricut mostly when hosting a crop and they want to play with the 4 cartidges I have!

Thank you so much for the link to a brilliant video, lylacfey. I can't get to groups, so it was really helpful for me. Now I have the courage to give it a try myself. x

We did embossed frames/shapes at a few camps. We put the chip board frame or shape on top of the folder between the platform & a cutting plate. Shims may or may not be needed to get the right thickness. If you die cut your frames/shapes from several pieces of thin chip board (i.e. cereal box), you can use double stick tape or glue to layer them to the thickness that works best with your machine. Just keep in mind that where you place the chip board is where the embossing will be on the card stock inside the folder.

The link in post #53 won't work. It gets to the website OK but then freezes. I can only see the top of the page and can't scroll down. Darn!

Thanks Deb, I did get to see and enjoy it. I get messages when anyone posts to the thread I am on and the message came with the video embedded so I could watch it from there. Then I watched a couple of others. It is fun to see all the ideas.
