I think there may have been a thread once upon a really long time ago but for the most part we just kinda wing it, lol.

I am getting a little confused on this thread myself though because we seem to talking about Distress Inks (DI) and Alcohol inks (AI) interchangbly which they are not. Some AI techs can be mimiced with DI's but the process is different is it not?

Yes, AIs and DIs are different. AIs are solvent based whereas DIs are water based. From what I've read, just adding rubbing alcohol to DI does not make it a DIAI. There's something more to it, I'm just not sure what. Someone who would probably know is Lylacfey. Has anyone seen her around lately?

A friend was telling me about getting the minature bottles of hand sanitizers at The Dollar Tree and you add some drops of reinkers to this and make your own alcohol ink. She said some inks appear to be thicker than others. I was going to head that way to pick up some yesterday but got side tracked. Perhaps later on today. I plan to give it a try. When I do, I'll let you know how it works out. Oh she said the lable on the bottle peels off easily and there's a white piece under it so you can use that to label it.

There is a list of those abreviations on Split Coast Stampers.

Claudia - I look forward to hearing what you've experienced with the hand sanitizers and reinkers. Will you post pics?

Fab - is SCS keeping up their abbreviation list?
