What's the big deal about Copics? I just don't get it... I've watched the youtube video and see no difference between them and any other marker such as my favorite LePlumes yet people are all gaga over them... they're expensive as hell too! Can someone enlighten me? Or is it just a case of people having to have everything new that comes out?

Stampo, it's a preference. I also think it's the intensity of the colors. Alcohol inks are more intense than water-based dye inks; same with the markers. There are also all the arguments of what type of ink for what one is doing - a la Stazon versus dye inks versus pigment inks.

They are also very quick. There's no waiting for drying time. One can color an image and see results. With the copics you have a bit more control. They color differently than most markers that I've used and the blender pen takes away color.

I'm discovering I'm more of a chalk, colored pencil type (maybe because I still don't wear my glasses 24/7 and see the world as an impressionist painting!) but if I were to decide I wanted bolder colors under SLJ sugar dust, I'd want copics, I think. Still experimenting!

Thanks for the explanation, Karen... now I know the difference.
