Default acrylic paint spray

I wish to mix my own medium to put in one of the fine spray bottles sold for this purpose. I want to use common acrylic paints that come in plastic 2 oz. bottles at any craft store. Has anyone had luck with this? What is the proper percentage of paint to water to be able to produce a fine enough spray so as to maintain a fine spray without large droplets or splotches, preventing clogging of the bottle, and yet being successful in creating significantly strong enough color?

I mixed 1:3 (paint:water). I was happy with it. Just experiment. I made mine about 2 years ago and it just needs to be gently shaken side to side to re-mix anduse. Don't shake up and down -- it makes a mess of the spray nozzle.

Sometimes blobs and splotches are a perfect addition to the background. When I want them I kind of pushed half way down on the spray.

Have fun!
