Default Wish list

I've _always_ got a wish list. Here's my current list.

Onion approx. 2", little rootlets, like you get in the grocery store, no leaves

Screws approx.1/4", flat head and phillips head, just the top, individual and row

Vacuum upright, approx. 3", no cord, vintage or modern

Mushroom cloud like an editorial cartoon, proportions are an issue for this

Bowling ball bomb with lit fuse, small, cartoon style

Cubby arial bomb with fins, 2" or less, no atomic symbol, cartoon style

Dog biscuit, any size, like milk bone stereotype (not a plain bone)

I'm a real rubber on a wood mount type. I will suffer a clear or cling stamp if it's absolutely perfect. eBay has been good to me lately but I prefer buying directly from vendors or trading.

Viva Las Vegastamps! has most of the stamps you're looking for and there's a Search function... I prefer wood mounted stamps too... life's too short to buy unmounted.

The bowling ball bomb is perfect!!! Can't wait to pick it up! The vac is less so… the hose is a little awkward.

Hey Upside Down - have you ever carved your own stamps?

Dog bones aren't quite right. I want the raised edge and stippling -- here's a reference -- it's just missing the raised edge they used to put on Milk Bones. SORRY about the size. I don't know how to get this smaller!

I did the Index Cards a Day project last year and I tried a new supply or technique each day for two months -- wow! -- carving a stamp was awful, I just don't have dexterity for it between the shakes and arthritis. I did have fun with the meat tray "carving" with a ball point pen, though.

About the raised look you are after, Upside Down, perhaps ink the stamp first with your primary color, say a shade of brown and then go around the edge of the stamp with a darker colored brown. If the first ink seems dry, huff on it and then stamp immediately. Would like to see how that turns out.

Huh. That's worth a try. I've got a round robin journal to jam out right now. I'll try to fit the experiment today or tomorrow.
