For just simple carvings I switched to white erasers. Pentel & Staedtler are my favorites-

Note- I do not pay that much for Staedtler erasers. I had sticker shock over at Amazon.

Bigger stamps I switched to Speedball Speedy Carve-

I know that is a big sticker shock. I used a coupon at Michael's.

Dollar Tree erasers are good too. I like to use those with a cuticle trimmer for cute simple designs. Here's my favorite tutorial-

Hope that helps.
That totally helps. Now I know to avoid the Speedball white carving material. I really don't want to try to carve designs into melty white chocolate.

I found pretty good prices on both the Staedtler erasers and the Speedball speedy carve at both Dick Blick and Jerry's Artarama. I love Dick Blick for great prices on art supplies. If I need just a few things, I go to my local artist's supply store (also pretty decent prices), but for big purchases, I usually hit either the Blick website or the Artarama site.

Right now, they both have the same price on the Staedtler erasers, but Jerry's is cheaper for the Speedball speedy carve.
