I love my ATGs.

Once in a great while one will "go off track"

....I have had mine for over 12 years....sometimes when I teach, one of my students will jam one by holding the trigger and lifting the gun off the paper....this will let the tape continue around the reel and jam.

Also do NOT store them on their side...store them with the handle up. This is especially important with the 1/4 inch tape as gravity tends to let the reels warp...especially in the heat.

I do have one of the 713 guns...I inherited from someone who didn't like it...but most of mine are the time tested 700 ATGs used by framers and I keep 1/2 and 3/4 inch tape in them.

I have small hands and long fingers. I don't like the weight or the way I have to hold them to use them. The one I tried to use did exactly what NancyK said and I couldn't get the refill to work for me either.

I'm using scor-tape but definitely think it's pricey.

I am a miracle tape gal....love, love, love it and the dispenser is easy peasy to use...If I pull too much I can self roll it back, cut it off and stick it down with control and peel the backing off when I am ready to put it down... I love, love, love it and NEVER have any malfunctions ever! lol...

I know, I know I haven't posted forever. I have an ATG. I am pretty good at wielding it. I don't like huge tools on my desk. I use the ATG tape without the gun. I have better control and can use the amount I need. Plus, I don't have to worry if the tape breaks. That has only happened once when I did use the gun. It was easy to rethread. I did have to watch a video. Now, I forgot how to do it so I would have to watch a video again.

I'm getting low in the tape department; eldest uses quite a bit for her craft projects for her part-time preschool job. Have to speak with her when she gets home this afternoon to see if we want to take advantage of Stampo's 4th of July savings!

I have one and I use it only for big projects where I have a lot of taping to do. WHY? IT IS TOO HEAVY! It is great if you do not have to pick it up and lay it down then my hand starts to hurt. I forgot the brand name.
