I can take a pic if you want...
Oh photos please!

My favorite technique is similar to the one Stampin Stacy mentioned but involves stamping in dark ink such as black or blue, coloring the spaces in white, outlining the image with dark colored pencil and then overcoloring the white with lighter colors. It makes the image POP!

In the image below, the top two butterflies are outlined with dark Prismacolor pencils whereas the two below are not. These were made into inchies for a November 2011 Inchie Swap.

Wow sure make a difference!! TFS an example.

As requested here are my butterflies, I was going to use them in the button inchie swap but couldn't figure out a layout that would allow them and a button. Guess they will get included on a card with a paper flower sometime in the near future instead, lol.

The die is Cuttlebug and the stamp is from Stamp La Jolla:

Ooh, Stacy, these are Gorgeous too
So different with the glossy black.
I had been thinking about trying twinks over black cs (after adding white & color 1st) after reading your blog.
Now if I can just get off the computer & find time to play
Thanks everyone for all the inspiration!

boy Stacy! knock out gorgeous butterflies! I would have put two holes down the center and made THEM a button.

Goes to show how a plain solid die cut can be "dressed up", love my twinks!

I forgot to mention that I used iridescent colors to make these. Donít know if they still sell those colors or not, I hope so. They are one of my favorite "old" sets.

What a great ideas thread! I have a 'blackboard technique' I sometimes use that is similar to what has been mentioned I think:

I love the black outlined butterflies you made, StampinStacy. Must try that.
