Default The Troll Wizard might be a VIP stamp ???

Thanks Maudie - It would make me very happy to find out for sure that he is a VIP stamp since I already have some of their wizards. I've got my fingers crossed that you are right.

Default Large Troll by Co-Motion Stamps?

Ok - I just purchased this mounted rubber stamp of a little troll with owl by Co-Motion Stamps and his face looks a lot like my "unidentified" large Troll with the crystal ball. Does anyone know if my large toll is by Co-motion Stamps?

FYI: when stamped - The large troll image measures 4 inches tall and the smaller troll measures just under 2 inches tall.

Thanks,
Evelyn

Have you asked Stampo? He's the owner of Viva LasVegastamps and is pretty knowledgeable and helpful in identifying stamps.

These are similiar to VIP wizards but just a bit different.

The company went out of business a few years ago. They were based in Anaheim, CA. He was a former school art teacher. I think his name was Jim Eades but I'm not too sure. Stampo, Does this sound correct?. I remember his wife was Elaine and she generally worked with him at the shows.

I've taken several classes from him. He used watercolor pencils for his medium and did gorgeous work with them. His permanent ink stamp cleaner was the best.

You could try to google his name or the company name which was Visual Image Printery.

Good luck on your quest!

Wish I still had some of my old catalogs, but regardless...I'm convinced those are some of Jim's VIP stamps. Ohhhhhhhhh, how I miss that company! I have a fairly substantial collection of his wizards.

Default thanks for the info

Thanks for the Info. Yes, I love the VIP wizards and have been collecting them for a while. I guess that is why I bought the trolls. They just looked like they would work well with the VIP stamps I already own.

Default The Big Troll is VIP - Visual Image Printery

Thanks to all who helped on the Large Troll stamp mystery.

I just purchased a smaller version of the Troll with crystal ball and the smaller stamp is marked VIP 1994 - so that mystery is finally solved!!!

I thought I'd post a picture of both stamps side by side so you can see the sizing difference. The images are the same so I'm confident that the large troll is VIP.

FYI - The large troll is 4 1/2 inches tall and the small troll is 2 1/2 inches tall.

- Thanks all.

After searching for VIP and CO-motion Stamps online ... this is
what I found! Is Co-Motion no longer in business either .. can't
seem to find them online

Visual Image Printery ...

Closed .. according to Jamie
Capi Pike in Precott, AR adds, "Visual Image Printery aka VIP - Jim Eads and Terry Green split their business and Jim
took this part of it, but was sued by a former employee who claimed to have been hurt on the job. He lost the business
and as far as I know, has not started up another stamp business. A real shame and loss to the stamping world, too, as it
was his art work that started it all. (He drew my logo for me.)."
On 8/28/03, Heather writes, looking for help; "That is a great list you assembled. I've been looking for a certain stamp by
Visual Image Printery, and now realize they are no longer in business. I'm guessing Jim Eads is still designing stamps
'somewhere' and I'd like to find out where. I'm searching for a beautiful full-length, front-facing fairy stamp that I believe
he designed. The lower half of the image is surrounded with blobs/bubbles, as if she's walking through them. Is there a
chance that Capi Pike, Prescott, AZ. may know if there are any VIP images sitting somewhere gathering dust? Thanks
for any leads you can supply. Heather"

The story I heard was that an employee cut his finger off cutting rubber (I use scissors rather than a saw as I feel it does a better job) and despite their paying all his medical bills, he sued them which forced them out of business... allegedly.
