March CCT2
The colors for March will be the letter B. So count down to the second color offering on www.design-seeds.com for March 1, 2012 and those will be the colors to use for March.
Here are the guidelines again: The tag size will be 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" with a 1/4" hole punched in the apex of the tag top, NO fibers in the holes. As for cutting of the corners & making the hole so all our tags more or less match, make a template for cutting the corners & punching the hole. Template directions: You will need a piece of light weight card board that is 2.75"x2". 1) Along one of the long sides of the card board, use a ruler to mark the .5" from the corner points on both corners. 2) Use the ruler to mark .5" from the corner points on each of the short sides on the same corners you marked already. 3) Cut from one side mark to the mark at a 90 degree angle from it. Repeat for the other corner. (make the cuts in one motion by using long bladed scissors, a cutter of some kind or a craft knife w/ruler) 4) Measure along the same 2.75" side you cut the corners from to find the middle (1 3/8" from both sides) and make a dot. 5) Make a hole by centering the punch over the dot. 6) Place this template on the back side of one end of every tag & mark with a pencil where the corner cut lines & hole should be. 7) After marking all tags, proceed with cutting off the corners & punching the holes in all of your tags. ONE piece of 8.5" x11" card stock will get 8 tags using the template. If you need a template, please contact me & I will send one out. The background paper/media may be a neutral/dark source and may show. What is wanted is to use the most of the colors to convay your vision. Ink doesn't always go where we want it to (serendipity) so if it is there it is there, if it isn't it isn't. Don't limit yourself to the colors selected that month as the background colors I will be leaving the medium of coloration up to you that allows you to do various experimentation to show color at work in various mediums....ie paper, chalk, ink, water color. Texture be up to you with these tags. Doing "color studies" isn't anything to be afraid of, it really is just a matter of thinking about what the assigned color(s) makes you think of & then making a tag (x the # of swap members) that represents those thoughts. It's all too easy to fall into a comfy rut of using the same colors for the same things all the time. This swap is all about exercising our creative mental muscles to see what we can do when we climb out of our ruts & explore the possibilities. Please type up a supply & techniques list, shrink it to a size that will easily fit the back of the tag fronts, copy the list to fill the sheet, cut the lists apart then stick them to the back. If your recipe is a long one, include the smaller ones in the envie along with your tags & I will make sure that everyone gets a copy & they can decide how they want to attach it to your tag. Once you have completed your color combination, just mail the required number of tags in an envie plus a self addressed envie with 4 'Forever' stamps inside, I'll make sure that we each get one tag of each others work. Don't forget to keep one for your self. Any unused stamps will be returned. Please sign up no later than the 10th of each month. That gives us enough time to create the tags & post them. Please mail by the 20th of each month. March **= received alsmouse critterportraits bowbates piecesandpom jaimie sander ~C8> |
