I though I would preview the next ATC theme early, to give everyone a change to start thinking about it. The due date will probably be after christmas and you will need to stamp ATC's that complete this sentence:
In 2008 I will _________________ .

Audreyrose is interested in participating in a swap  , do we have any other international friends that would like to join in. I'm going to give this one long dates so you can join in too.
She and I are also wondering about what kind of ideas people are thinking about for this one. Do you have a New Years resolution you could stamp. I have a stamp that is too big for an ATC but I could cut and use just the weight scales. Maybe it could be to stamp more / make more art, I have a paint brush stamp I got from Denyse during the virtual convention, hmm.......
Just though of another one: make more time for me and use lady stamps and clocks.

Any ideas about when you'll make the deadline for mailing, or about how many you think we'd need to send? I'd be happy to join but i definitely don't have time for any more projects until after Christmas.

What due date do you all think would work better, I was thinking the first week of Jan or do you want them to be due sooner so you can get them back closer to the first of Jan? Just remember that an earlier due date puts it around christmas when many of us will be very busy and some even out of town with relatives. The one thing I can't do is push it back much farther into Jan. There are 2 back to back conventions coming to the area, Heirloom one weekend and Stamp Scrap Art Tour the next weekend. So I will be busy spending the christmas money I hope to get in my stocking;)
As far as numbers that will depend on number of participants but I will break it down into subgroups again to keep it manageable. Has the 5 or 6 number of ATCs been working for everyone or do you want to do more and therefore get more back? Maybe we should keep the numbers the same for this time around and then think about increasing it next time, it will be winter and will all be staying indoors more anyway at that point.
What do ya'll think?

Has the 5 or 6 number of ATCs been working for everyone or do you want to do more and therefore get more back? I'm flexible on the number made (probably the only kind of flexable I am any more. :)) Maybe we should keep the numbers the same for this time around and then think about increasing it next time, it will be winter and will all be staying indoors more anyway at that point.
What do ya'll think? I'll go with the majority vote just to make it easier. 5-6 or more, I'll be doing them at work & hoping the worker elves keep their fingers off the wet works while they dry. Had a problem with that last time. Had to redo the "trees" since the ink and paper were both fussy ones. I may have to make a wet paint sign for those elves that feel that they have to touch. I show them the finished product when it's done, but it must be like a kid & gotta touch. :D ~C8>

Do you have room on your desk for a plastic shoebox or other see-thru' container? It may take a bit longer for stuff to dry under the box, but the looky-lous can safely peer at your works in progress without putting their fingers where they don't belong. :D

You could try to stuff them under the box, but your boss might grumble as their productivity may be hampered from being on display. The box could also double as a transport container for hauling supplies to/from work. :D

Well, for some of them, their productivity may improve too. :)) As for using the box to transport projects to work, it would help organize the rolling suitcase I drag with me daily.:D I've tried to downsize the amoundt I take but someone usually needs a card & I'm without something so back & forth it goes. I've already filled 1 filing cabinate with supplies & have taken over another teammates with the paper supplies so may have a few toys already at work. ~C8>

You bet there is room for more sign ups. This is a really busy time of year so I put the idea out there really early, probably won't even close this for another couple of weeks. Lots of time to come up with ideas and try them out, that is after all holiday cards are done and sent out :D .

So sorry I haven't been back to this thread to close it out and compile a master list sooner :o . Thank you Audreyrose for the email to remind me.
The theme to remind everyone is to stamp the completion of this sentence:
In 2008 I will _________
So far I have the following players signed up:
Audreyrose
Marie
1stImpressionInk
Artkar
Andreascraps
Inky Whiskers
Alsmouse
Joanofgos
Stampin Stacy
If anyone else is interested please feel free to let us know here on this thread, I will be closing this out next week though.
This will be a send 5 get 5 back swap and they are due here by Jan 9th. I can't wait to see what every one's resolution for 2008 is and how creative ya'll are in expressing that resolution with stamps.

Anyone else want to sign up for this ATC swap? We have some new members, don't be afraid to join in on the fun. Never having joined a swap or never having made an ATC before is not a good enough excuse to not join in on all the fun, everybody was new at one time or another. Heck a lot of us in this swap are new at it too.

One more time does anyone else want to join this swap? I will officially close this one Sat morning and I will send out my address to everybody at that time. Also if you signed up back when but can't play this time around please let me know asap via PM.
A couple more players would round out our numbers quite nicely. :)

This ATC trade is now closed.
Thanks to all who signed up to trade, if you missed this one keep checking back as we will have another swap very soon.
All participants who signed up need to send me 5 like ATC's, if you are keeping one for yourself remember to make 6 but don't send it to me. The back of your ATC's they need to:
have a title
be numbered - ( 1 of 5 etc...)
date them
be signed by the artist - that's you on the back at least but I really recommend initials or something on the front as well. Think paintings at a museum
Info about the making is appreciated if room allows otherwise info should go in the gallery once its uploaded.
Sleeves are not necessary until you receive back from me. It would only make them heavier and more bulky, resulting in additional postage costs for everyone. Once I have sent them out and everyone has received theirs back in the mail then you can post your ATC and all info about it in the swap gallery.
Please include a self address, pre-stamped envelope for me to return your ATC's back to you in. They are due to me no later than Jan 12th.
The participants for this swap are:
Audreyrose
Marie
1stImpressionInk
Artkar
Andreascraps
Inky Whiskers
Alsmouse
Joanofgos
Stampin Stacy

Every one's ATC's have been received, redistributed and ready for mailing back out  . An especially big congrats to Audrey Rose for completing her very first set of ATC's :applause: . I'll be dropping them off at the Post Office tomorrow morning.
Remember to not post to the Gallery until everyone has received theirs back. The one exception to this might be Audrey Rose since hers take so long to travel back and forth. So be sure to check in and let us know when each of you get your envelope of goodies in your box.
Ya'll are gonna love them, I did!

No problem, Audrey! Other than the size of your ATCs being a smidge off, there's nothing "wrong" with your swaps. (ATCs are generally 2.5"x3.5") All of us were newbies at some point and as we've had practice since then, our results look more like we want them to most of the time. I know I still have "off" days where nothing I stamp is fit for human eyes to see & even the cats run away shaking their heads. Give yourself permission to learn how to do whatever techniques you want to do & don't be afraid to practice & make mistakes. Some pretty nifty things get discovered by accident! :D

I'll second what Jenna said AudreyRose, we were all beginners and I love the image you used and what you were trying to say. Once you receive your return ATC's then you'll even have examples of size.
We're glad you picked us to learn with. To me the #1 rule is to have fun and enjoy the process.

You are most welcome, Audrey! We all need a cheering section once in awhile.
If you can find them, baseball card page protectors work great for storing your ATCs in a binder. Each page is pre-punched with binder holes & comes with 9 pockets just the right size for ATCs. Try looking in baseball card shops & office supply stores. I get mine at the office store in the same aisle as the regular page protectors, but have seen them in the card store too. The card stores also may carry packages of individual sleeves to store your ATCs in if you'd prefer to store/display them in a box or basket. The sleeves are good for preventing damage to the cards when being handled.
Whatever you're doing, make enjoying yourself part of the process!!! As I always tell my stamp campers:
"If you enjoy what you're doing...you're doing it right. If doing it is stressing you out...you're doing it wrong." :D

Inky is right. No matter what you do in life, if you don't enjoy doing it then it isn't what makes you happy. Try to make yourself as happy as possible & then it will be right. :D ~C8>
