Come make and swap Christmas ATC's with your fellow RSC members. Great way to wish each other Happy Holidays and have some fun doing so.
I've decided to call this a little early to make sure we get them back in time, it occurs to me that not only do we have busy schedules but the Post Office mail volume will slow things down too. I will be closing sign ups in a couple of weeks, sometime just after the 1st of Nov.
Don't think about it do it! You know you want to be part of the fun, instead of reading about everybody else's fun. Don't miss out.
Specifics about how many and due date to follow soon, after we know how many are participating but I will keep the number manageable. Can we break our record of 13 participants from last time???? Kinda cool that our number was "unlucky 13" for a halloween swap!

I've had a question about the number of ATC's that everyone will need to do. The reason I haven't given a specific number is that I will be dividing up among those that participate by a number that works mathematically. It will be between 4 -6 ATC's each probably though.
Love seeing all the new players too:clap: , be warned though you will now be addicted and want to keep playing:D .

What I'm addicted to is seeing everyone's techniques in real life. And it's all on a small scale so I can build up a collection of samples that I'd never take the time to do myself. And the many, many ways each of us treats the theme.
It's pushing me to become better or try something new and that's always good!

This ATC trade is now closed. Thanks to all who signed up to trade, if you missed this one keep checking back as we will have another swap very soon.
All participants who signed up need to send me 6 like Christmas themed ATC's, if you are keeping one for yourself remember to make 7 but don't send it to me. I am keeping one of each this time and sending you back 5.
Be sure to give them a title, number them ( 1 of ? etc...), date, and sign them. Be sure to include your screen/online name somewhere as well as your real name so I know who I have and haven't received from.
Your ATC's are due to me no later than Nov 17th, this give me time to get them back out to you before the post Thanksgiving/Christmas card rush starts. Please include a SASE for me to return your ATC's back to you in. Sleeves are not necessary until you receive back from me. It would only make them heavier and more bulky, resulting in additional postage costs for everyone.

Also, it takes time to organize our swaps to send them back out to us, so if Stacy wants one ATC from each of us for facilitating the swap I think she should have them. :D
Tho' not common in swappping, I have done a swap before where the facilitator kept one of each set of cards as her "payment" for doing a monthly swap for 50+ people. We didn't have to do 50 cards a month, just 20 & we got 19 back. It was great fun while it lasted.

Is the due date here the 16th or 17th of this month? I've misplaced a key element for my ATCs :o and am heavily in craft mode so the chances of me finding them in time to send on the 16th is slim. I will have found it by the 17th 'cause I need them for another project, too, but that's craft fair day so I don't know if I can get to the PO before the fair starts - I usually do a run to the bank for the other crafters and don't know what the line at the PO will look like that AM.
Guess the question is whether the 19th is an okay date so I can play?
Where is the stamping cleanup fairy when I really, really need that magical entity? ? ?
stampin stacy
11-12-2007, 08:30 AM
We can extend the due date a few days if that will help the majority. I didn't realise today the P O would be closed. I was just trying to get them back out before the holiday card rush starts, so none get lost. I am shooting for getting them back out on Tues or Wed. Does this help or should we wait longer? Again I don't mind either way, majority rule.

I'm good with whatever date we have. I pared down on my idea & ready to finish them. May take me longer to do the backs than the fronts! diana

11-12-2007, 11:16 AM
I scrambled this weekend and got my front and backs nearly done but not together...This week is crazy for my dh to get them mailed out by the 16th as he is out of town on the 14th and 15th...I truly figured I had more time to order in stamps I was looking at etc but did work with what I had. It was not what I originally started out to make and it was interesting to me how it evolved as I dove in and played with it. It evoked a trip down holiday memory lane for me...A California Kid that dreamed of snow and got a couple holidays with it...At best we may be able to make the mail out on the 16th but the 19th would be easy on the DH...I car pool so my time at work is stuck working car-less.
About those stamps of mine alot like a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear....always wanting something new...hehehe I may still order post ATC planning just because I want them!:))

either due to Stacy by the 17th or the 19th is good for me. Mine are almost finished, and i'll put them in the mail tonight but my post office is pokey; i think it took at least a day longer than my post office estimated it would to reach Stacy last time.
i agree Cindy! More Stamps-More Stamps! I could use a stamp that says that this just to cut down on the number of time i need to answer the age old "What do you think Santa will bring you this year jeannine?" ....assuming i get on the nice-not naughty list.
anyone started Christmas shopping yet? I haven't even gotten started on making Christmas cards for my family yet. I am sooooooo not getting enough done.

Cindy, they are not due until next week so you have plenty of time to get them out don't worry about it.
Artkar and Taniwolf, we are sorry you can't stay in the swap but understand, maybe next month will work out better.
Now for my news:
My computer quit working yesterday afternoon so I will not be able to check AT RSC very often until we get parts and it has been fixed, probably a week at minimum. I am at the library now and will try to get by here once a day. They are saying it takes at least 3 -5 days to get the parts and then I will have to schedule an appointment for them to come install.
Yes I am still hosting the swap!! I am going to send out ATC's on an as received basis, more or less. So if you get yours done early you should get some back early, as long as I get 5 others to send theirs in early too.
Please do not post anything to the gallery though until I give the go ahead, we don't want to spoil anyone's surprise.
Sorry if this is rushed or anything is misspelled, no spell check and I am in a hurry. Use of computers here is on a time limit and then you get bumped off.

I'll definitely get my ATCs out Monday but I have a lot of clean up and putting away to do!
Thanks for the inquiry. I did better than last year - altered minibooks, small memo books, post-it-notes, 3 X 3 mini cards and lots of Thanksgiving and Christmas favors (nugget boxes, matchbook type cards with G???delli chocolates and the first person who saw my Snowman Soup bought them all! ! !). Tile coasters, some cards. The donated stamped tapers in the church greens baskets all went. Few cards, folks appreciate them but don't buy them. Nice comments on some of the new things I've tried and learned over the last year so I know I am doing something right!
The best news - a woman in town is looking to open a handcrafted items store and is seriously considering me as someone she wants making items! I don't know if we get enough traffic in town for this to work out - we are an 'antiques' go-to site for the entire state so if it's in the right place it just might work. We'll see what happens in the spring.

That's great news Karen! A successful sale is a happy thing, an other than successful sale is somewhat depressing. I've had both, and now think the other less-than-hoped for results, often times depend on factors totally out of my sphere of influence.....of course, a good sale is without question a reflection of your skills and selection of products.

I keep mine in baseball card pages. My display thought is that if you framed a single baseball card page, you could display up to 9 ATCs at a time. If that's too much effort, you could always tack a display sheet to the cork board or wall. I usually find these 9 pocket pages in the office supplies with the full size page protectors. Just thinking out loud. :D

I would post your ATCs if I could, but I didn't get either of your ATCs this time. Hopefully somebody who did will be able to post them for you. Do either of you have digital cameras? Pix from them can be uploaded too. :D

I can post them since I have copies of each this time. Someone else pm'd me about doing theirs too and now I can't find the note so if someone else needs theirs uploaded let me know. Sorry I don't remember who it was, I know I save that message somewhere..... :confusion:

My scanner won't put out! OH Sure, it will scan, it will edit- :hissy: the muddle-memory thing just plain refuses to move, upload/download or transfer the file to anywhere. It's doing it on purpose.....I just know it is! I'm gonna fix that sad sorry thing six ways to Saturday once i get finished with Christmas stuff. Yep! January's a good time for a cranky showdown! Then we'll see who's more stubborn and sly! ....pitiful pile of electronic components......play silly data games with me......was a toaster and it's other parent was a rubberband.....

:)) Oh you just made my day...I so thought I was the only one dealing with electronic issues...give me a pencil, paintbrush, x-acto knife any day but the electronic systems do not like me no, not me not one little bit!
Thank you for the scan offer I humbly appreciate it as well...

I had a friend once whose boss kept putting off getting her computer fixed. She made a big show walking by his office with a very large hammer in hand one morning......
He asked, "what are you doing?"
She answered, "I'm going to fix my computer". The computer tech was at her desk fixing the computer before the morning was out.
Now do you feel better about your scanner issues? :p
I will get scans and upload first chance I get.:)

Thanks, spidey, Stacy, i don't actually feel bad about my scanner issues, it's more like a stone in my shoe.....an actual pain but not enough to stop doing what i need to do and and shake it out. But the hammer idea might work! I'll just settle my #10 sledge where it'll have to see it and maybe it'll give up messing with me.....maybe. I've tried bribing it with new and even brand-name ink cartridges and coated paper. -a threat couldnt hurt.
But please dont feel you must upload my ATC Stacy, i was just comisserating with all the other scaner impaired stampers.

I was hoping the sun would return for me to get pics of the ATC's but I don't thing that is going to happen. The colors are usually better but I will get them uploaded today hopefully either by scan or picture taken. Anyone else need me to upload for them?

Santa is supposed to be bringing a scanner to our house...if it gets too crazy I can always push Santa to hurry up and scan later after the holidays. I really appreciate your offer but hey this is a busy time of year. Make me low priority in any event.
Hugs and Thanks,

Done!! I uploaded Marie, Spideycindy, J3annin2 and Marstamper's 2 ATC's
They are pretty awesome, go check them out!!
If I had know that complaining here at RSC about not having any sunshine to get decent pics would chase the clouds away I definitely would have complained sooner. Too weird considering we had "freezing fog" this morning.

Truely is was no big deal, you all are most welcome. They were too pretty to not be shown off. It is very cool to see your own work in an online gallery and know "thats mine!".

These scan issue are a hoot to read.......hammers, toasters, gosh I have the same problem, my scanner works, its the person pushing the buttons that can't figure it out. Not only that but my printer won't print, the paper always jams, something is not turning.........some wheel, just like the one in my brain!
I do look forward to viewing all the Christmas ATC's.
