Hi there all::lcow:

I would like to host a Unmounted Stamps Round Robin ..These can be from any company ...

They must be new never used and the thing is you must agree to mail back to the next person on list in a Flat Rate Priority Mail Envelope... Must not be sent any other way... And Must have a Delivery confirmation number as well..

So if you have any stamps that are umounted and new and you just know you will never use cause not your style pass it on and see what you find in the envie...

You must put in the envie the same amount you pull out...
Last person on the list mails back to me...

So if you are interested PLease post here and PM me your full name and mailing address which I will Not post here for privicy purposes.

First Ten to respond will fill the list..
I will be shipping like 2 pounds of unmounteds... So imagine lets have some fun...
I hope to have some participants.

OOO!!! I have a gazillion um duplicates & not-my-style-images from grab bags needing homes. (I'm not exagerating by much as I know I have more than 100 "surplus" images in a bag.) Count me in, please! My mailing info is on my RSC member page. :D

You said we have to put back in as many images as we decide to keep from the envie, can we put more back than we take out?

Will you be including a printed list of instructions in the envie for the next person to follow then pass along?

Is there a time frame for mailing the envie to the next person beyond asap?

Inquiring & enthusiastic minds want to know! :D

Hi Inky Whispers:

Wow that is great... I beleive you when you say you got gazillions and doubles as well I'm the same.. Thats why i decided to do this...

I ask that each of us put back the same you pull out... Yes Yes Yes you can add more if so wish so if you got doubles and want to add them so be it..
As long as It fits into the flat rate priority mail envie... I will see if instead of the envie I might find a small priority mail box where it will not cost more that 6.00 so send... If we can do that then that will be safer and sturdier than the flat rate envie...

I will close the list as soon as I get 10 people to sign up..
Once i get all then thats with me included so really need 9 persons I will post closed for sign ups. Then I will type a list of where the package should go to and i would like that once we get it we don;t take more than one day to go thru the package and pull out and add in your trade and off to the next person ...

I would appreciate if we all post and say where the package will be headed next too..
I will choose the list by the order we sign up....to make it fair to all and of course I'll be the last person the package comes back to.

I want to keep the package moving along smoothly and fast...
Instructions and all will be in the package yes ...:lcow:

I will see if instead of the envie I might find a small priority mail box where it will not cost more that 6.00 so send... If we can do that then that will be safer and sturdier than the flat rate envie...

I did a monthly swap a couple of years ago and I used a small priority sized box with a lift open top (as opposed to the standard 4 flap box) that I had glued scrapbook paper to a'la decoupage then covered the entire outside with clear packing tape to water proof it. To send the box I just closed the lid by tucking in the front & side flaps and taping over the 3 edges of the lid and the receiver just had to slit the tape along those edges to open the box. The original address/return labels were under the first layer of tape so the receiver would put her labels over mine to send the box back and I would peal them off to send the box back out. We sent that box back & forth for over 9 months and it was still in such good shape when the swaps ended that I sent it out to somebody else later.

This might be an option for this swap as the box I used qualified for the $4.05 Priority mailing price. (This was the small box price at the time, I know it's gone up a bit since then.) As a bonus, the box will be easy to spot in the mail & hard to overlook on the way out the door when it needs to be mailed out again! Just a thought.

Jenna:

Are you talking about the one that looks like i can fit a vhs tape in it?

That was one i was thinking about ..
Let me know if that is the one...
I will check online at the Usps to see if i see it there in the flat rate ...
Well I sure hope more gals sign up.

I think the box was a indeed a media mailing box! I've done the paper wrap w/clear tape on other boxes I've mailed too and have been told that throwing the box away just wasn't possible.

I hope others sign up!!! The more the merrier as well the wider the variety of images for everybody to choose from. We could still do it if less than 10 sign up. :D

Well, the cleaning fairies came to my house. . .I just checked and I can't find my bag of dups under the Halloween swaps and the Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday fair. Oh, did I mention darling daughters got in there, too, to find pictures and paper for a school project?

So, I wanna play but don't know if I can. Can I respond by this evening? Don't mind if others join and I get bumped down the list. I do want my stamps to find a home, if I can find them. . .

Don;t Worry karen I will add you to the list just let me know as soon as you find them so i lknow if to add you in the order of your post or if i carry you further down... Don;t worry either way you will be on this list...

Well, I'm cursing now. Darling eldest daughter and friend have just added fixing Halloween costumes to the craft pile - with the chocolate nuggets that were supposed to go into crafted, stamped boxes, the candles, etc., that aren't finished for the craft fair.

So, I still haven't found my unmounted, need a home stamps. Let me bow out gracefully at this point and if I can find them later, and there is still a space I'll sign back in. Don't want to hog or hold a spot if there are other unused, unwanted stamps that need a home!

Once all the rubber on the road dust settles & we can see what we have left to trade, I think going another round would be great good fun! Everytime the box goes around it would have different images in it for us to choose from and when somebody gets saturated they can drop out of the loop. #8)

This little rat toe stayed home.
This little rat toe had graham crackers.
This little rat toe had none.
And this little rat toe...hey! We're all out of rat toes! :))

Actually it went something like this;
Hind Paw #1:
This little rat toe went to the stamp show.
This little rat toe played in the glitter.
This little rat toe screammed "eeeK! eeeK! eeeK"!, as Mommy tried to scrub the glitter off the toe.
Hind Paw #2:
This little rat toe went to the Vet.
This little rat toe came home without something important.
This little rat toe bit Dad while Mommy was cleaning the "without" part.
This little rat toe bit BIL because he teased this little rat toe.
Front Paw #1:
This little rat toe insisted on diving into the chair & disappering into the craft room for an hour.
This little rat toe got found making a nest of pretty paper.
This little rat toe got used to count the people who wanted to join the UM swap.
This little rat toe got a rice & seaweed cracker for letting me use his toes to count.
Front Paw #2:
This little rat toe begged for a graham cracker.
This little rat toe was attempted to be dressed as a vampire for RSC.
This little rat toe was used as a salute to Mommy for the idea of dressing him up.
And this little rat toe went "hee, hee, hee", all the way home, laughing at the look on his Mommy's face after the salute.

It sure is easier to type "ROTFLOL" that to actually laugh and cough through a conjested chest at the same time, but I managed while reading your "poem"! :D I'm just glad I wasn't drinking anything too.

I don't blame Tucker a bit for making a gesture in your direction after all you've put him thru' recently.

I'm just glad he is past his "teens" now. He does seem to have caught your gack though, so do you want it back? It is now rat sized & may be easier to get rid of.
He is much calmer now than when he was a kid or a Teen. Fixing does make it go so much easier. Can you do that to humans??? I know one neighbor with a female teen who I think would love to "fix" her. Maybe the nightly screeching matches would stop. Sure ruins a nice summer night on the patio. I'm glad the rain keeps them inside now. I can't hear them.
Got caught in a real downpour today, was rewarded with real wide double rainbows. They looked at least a 4 lane hwy wide. It was just stunning. I couldn't find a place to turn off or I would have taken a photo. Darn. ~C8>

This "virus" is insidious! The person I got it from STILL has it & has had it for almost a month now. DH & DS caught it too. My head's cleared up (mostly) but the chest gurgles may be around for awhile. I'm sorry Tucher caught it. How do you get a rat to "blow"?

At least we have new rubber to swap to look forward to! New stamps always cheer me up. :D

You Don't. They just sneeze a lot as best they can. He's curled up in his blankie & yesterday he curled up in my shirt on the drive back. I've even kept the heat up a bit. I SURE don't need it but he seems to appreciate it.

I definitely can't play this round, can't find my unloved unmounted stamps and don't want to part with anything yet that doesn't have ink on it. One of my sisters phoned tonight to see if I wanted to come play at my nephew's school craft fair so now I have to prep for two! And in a hurry!

BUT, 'pieces' peed all over my sticky dots and some of my DP and almost ruined my craft desk. . .she has a small bladder and is protesting the pom residing in her indoor space! So I'm running out for emergency supplies this weekend. She also knocked youngest's retainers on the floor where 'pom' proceeded to find them and CHOMP. Guess we have a visit to the ortho in the near future. She is in so much trouble and then she gets poor 'pom' in trouble, too! I don't mind so much when she nests in the paper, knocks off ribbons or scissors, etc. but she's gone too far this time!

Bummer Karen!!!

I'm sorry you won't be playing pass the stamp with us this time, but it does sound like we may do one (or more) of these again.

I hate it when cats get pissy! At least Jimmy does it in the tub, but the others will go wherever they think will get my attention. I've even had a couple of them use my stamp scrubbing trays! Unfortunately for Pieces, getting rid of Pom isn't going to happen, so kitty better put her big girl panties on an deal with it! Maybe some extra lovie time with treats to let her know you still love her even tho' she has to put up with the dog & got upset about it.

Alas, dogs will be dogs & this includes chewing stuff they shouldn't.

Gotta love them furry kids! Life would be too quiet without them. :D

Granted, neither has shipped yet, but I think I enjoy the anticipation almost as much as the arrival of new stamps. One of them contains grab bags which means there will be even more UMs in my duplicate surplus stash for swap box stuffing. :D

Heads up, Jeff!!! I sent a paper airplane with the box o'rubber delights in your general direction today. I did the confirmation thinging, but not Priority as that takes longer than regular mail in our area. I've done lots of mailing in western WA & ironically priority (2-3 days average) takes longer than local slug mail. (1-2 days) The price difference was negligible, but I wanted you to get it sooner than later. Have fun!!! I know I did! :D

(For those who didn't know...Jeff & I live less than 50 miles apart & are even in the same county.)

If it had been anybody living farther away than that, I would have used priority! Even for alsmouse, even tho' OR mail usually only takes 2-3 days from here, 'cause snail mail to there has taken longer on rare occasion. I didn't do it to save $ (the difference was about 25 cents) but time & hopfully Jeff will have the box by tomorrow, Monday at the latest. It would have been Monday the soonest by Priority.

I totally agree that priority w/conformation is the best way to mail this swap about the country, I wasn't trying to start a mutiny or anything. :o

I received the box on Friday afternoon, went through it, took stuff out, put stuff in, and re-mailed via Priority it to beautiful Waltham, Massachusets (where I went to college, so I got all maudlin and stuff). You should have it Tuesday or Wednesday, I think.

May I say, that was one FABULOUS box of stuff. Every other time I've ever done something like this, it's been a small padded envelope of about thirty dies. HOLY CRAP! 3+ pounds of rubber. BLISS, BABY!

Ahem, anyway, thanks for letting me play and I hope the rest of you enjoy the rubber. I do hope we'll get to do this again sometime.

Dear Marie:

Sometimes its better the flate rate box but that 8.90 in your case you would have been better off using the flat rate box as opposed as to paying $14.00 to ship

In other cases depending where you shipping too it will cost even less to ship so i guess its best we use our judgement.

Or unless we can do a round with over 3 pounds of rubber then for sure the 8.90 flat rate box is in order.. We will see about that in the next time around for those that wish to do this again.

Now Marie please let me know how much you used to send out the package to the next person...

I paid $10.95 for non-priority & priority would have been $11.20, both prices included the delivery conformation thingy.

Taniwolf paid at least $11.20 since that was what was on the postage lable when the box arrived here. I did switch out the box for one approximately the same size but sturdier 'cause after its trip cross country the box I got was spliting down the sides. If it weren't for the plastic bag, there might have been a trail of rubber from NY to WA!

Oops. Our bad. *embarassed look*

Still, the Flat Rate box sounds like a good idea. One other thought I had on that is that these are readily available at the post office so if one box starts to get too rickety to use, a new box of the same size would be easy to obtain and would actually be free since it comes with the price of the postage.

Not at all, Marie! I think it's very interesting how the price varies depending not only on the weight of the box, but where it's going too.

I don't think it was anything you did or didn't do Taniwolf! I think the PO buried it under heavier packages and it just couldn't take the weight. The box was somewhat smooshed in addition to the side seem damage. It's a good thing rubber is tough stuff, what with all the chances the PO is getting to punt it around during this swap.

All good points in favor, Jeff! Plus those PO mailing boxes are rather heavy duty & should hopefully last through a few mailings. My VLVS order of grab bags arrived this week and I have new dup images to swap! :D

Hi gang:

I'm so happy to see that this swap is moving right along. I am going to try and compensate those of you that paid the extra postage.
I know you are not complaining but i want to be fair and I want every one to be happy.

Now off to another note:

I would like by a show of hands who would like to do a mixed lot goodie box.
This will be for sure the FLAT RATE BOX $8.90 plus we must add delivery confirmation ...

This box I will begin by adding unmonteds , scrapbooking papers, embelishments, eyelests, mounted rubberstamps, stickers, beads, stamped images, stuff for collaging, stuff to decorate, dominoes to stamp on, buttoms, fibers, ribboms, embosing powders and soooo much more.

So the next person takes what they like and add in the box what you have at home you won't be ever using or have not used in years.... can be a magazines you won't ever use etc,,,,

So by a show of hands let me know who wants to be part of this swap.
I already got one friend that does not have a pc but is a stampaholic and for sure is in on this one...
We will not start that one til i get back the unmounted box...
So lets get busy looking thru your craft /rubberstamping room for supplies
And post here to by show of hands and if i see its a go i will start a new thread to keep it separate from the one that is going around now.

I am interested in that new swap you posted but I can't commit just yet until I get an idea of when you might be sending it. I will be travelling sometime this spring (not sure of my dates yet) and want to be sure I won't be away when the box would be heading towards me. I wouldn't want to hold up the swap for the others!

I'm feeling much better today. I slept yesterday from the time I got home at 10:30a to 8:30p & only 2 pills for pain. I feel a ton better. I'm getting a little scared driving with them now as I start to get drowsey and drift. I'm only driving 15 min but it is nervewracking as it has roads with big rigs & deep ditches. I'm taking the box over to the PO today.Had to wait for the car to gat back from the shop. It is back in a USPS priority box so will be back to the right pricing. I also reinforced the box with tape. If every one carefully opens just the top slot with a knife blade & retapes on the same spot we can keep using that same box for a while. Just peel off the previous mailing info & postage tag, replace with the new one & reseal. If we are careful this box will have a long life. ~C8>

I recycled one an order came in & it is the larger sized box, same price, more room. I had to add stuffing to keep the weight centered so if you get it & it is full of stuffin, please replace the stuffin so the weight is even. If it shifts, the USPS gets weird, something about tipping the airplane over.
The postal gal asked the usual declaration questions & I also said there was nothing illegal, immoral or fattening in there either. She questioned if there was any chocolate. I told her it would only be chocolate themed stamps, so if any are missing, she has them. :eyeroll: ~C8>

When i began the swap yes it was in a priority mail box and the second person also mailed it priority ..

There's a difference between paying for Priority mailing & using a regular box and using an official white PO priority box. I did not receive a white PO priority box from the person before me on the list, but priority postage was paid on the box I did receive. That regular brown box arrived damaged, so I replaced it with one that was about the same size but sturdier. It was not a white priority box either. I would have used an official box if that had been specified, but priority mailing with conformation was what was stipulated. My reasons for not mailing priority were justified, but in no way should be repeated by the others as nobody else on the list lives that close to anybody else on the list. I understand it, alsmouse is telling us that she used an official white PO Priority box for the consistant mailing price (this price consistancy does not apply to non-official boxes) & I totally agree that is the best way to go for bulk item swaping. I just didn't think of it myself or I might have done it for continuity, if not for speed of delivery locally. I may be a bit of an oddball, but I'm not generally rebellous & I do try to follow the parameters & rules laid out unless I have a really good reason not to.

I hope those who still have the box to look forward to enjoy it as much as I did! :D

O.K. I just went back to the beginning and it is listed to use a PO Priority envie & conformation. My bad for not rereading the 1st post from October & only going with what was posted later about using priority & conformation. :o

My only excuse for not using a white po box is that I didn't receive one, but I did choose to speed the delivery time to the next person by not sending the box by priority, tho' I did the conformation.

I think I'll go stamp something & stay out of trouble.

Ms Mouse has tipped off the spidey to be on the lookout. I worked out of town on Saturday...it stormed terribly and we crept home. On Monday I got away from work too late to check as I suspect it needs to be signed for and our box is small...so dh is supposed to go today and pick it up for me. I will confirm online asap.
Spideycindy
I pmed you as well as I saw your post...not to worry I will be prudent I promise.

I received the box from the Post Office this am before work! I am at work and it is here with me and I am dying to check it all out but alas that darn need to work is killing me so I walk by the box and sniff and smile cause I am going to have so much fun drooling tonight! I will not take long and hope to get the box out within a day or two at the most if that is ok?

Chocolate themed Stamps!!!!!!Hmmmm I was drooling but do not recall chocolate related stamps, but then there were so many wonderful stamps I had no idea how difficult it would be to narrow down my selection swaps...I had set aside a limited number of stamps I would swap and it took sooo long to edit my choices. To be honest there are sooo many fun and wonderful stamps I can not possibly tell you what all was in there. I eliminated sizes that I did not have that were equal to or matched so who knows what I overlooked. I had to have a wee spider stamp just cause...who would guess right? I also love Christmas jingle bells and had to have one of those...so I can tell ya no chocolate related stamps found a home with me :noway:
The box is getting put together for mail out tomorrow and I have sent out a PM to Lillibet and the next recipient. For the brief time I spent with the box it was pure:lovie:

I got the box and opened it last night. This is a HUGE bag of unmounteds to go thru. It's quite a variety and anyone would find images or sayings they'd want in it. I looked at them last night but didn't do any swapping yet. I have a business trip tomorrow (flying to Orange County and back) which I have to prepare for today. So the earliest I can swap will be Friday and then I'll send it on its way on Saturday.

The box is on its way to RSFiend. The delivery confirmation # is 0103 8555 7494 5467 1495. I got it boxed and labeled on Saturday but I missed my mail run and didn't take it to the post office until late Monday. But it is on its merry way (that sucker weighs almost 10 lbs now!)

I found several images and I added some in exchange and a couple others that I had which were duplicates from grab bags I've gotten.

If it goes around again, I'd be happy to participate again.
