Be sure to check out office supply stores, you never know when you are going to find a bargain.
I just got a 50 pack of cd cases for $9.98 at staples, shoot I was paying that for a 10 pack at Walmart. Is it April, I'm ready for the next virtual convention!

Never mind, I'm taking them back today. They have the built in hub that can't be removed. I knew it was a deal too good to be true  . Oh well :confusion: .

I was in a local stamp store last weekend (Fun Stamps in Lynnwood for those Washingtonians here), and I saw a couple of DVD-style plastic cases that were made for cling and clear stamps. Of course, since it's a specialized stamping product, and not merely office supplies, it was pricey. :-)

Stacy, I get my jewel cases from Staples, too. They aren't as good a deal as yours (which turned out not to be such a good deal after all since you have to take them back. Sorry.) but they're better than the $10/10 pack you mentioned. The Staples jewel cases I got are 24 for $13.50 and have removable hubs. They are not the "slim" jewel cases but the older style that is just a bit thicker which allows me to store my ums that are foam mounted. Some of my foam mounts are too thick to fit in the slim cases, so I only buy the other kind. Maybe they would work for you as well?

I was stamping today and hadn't gotten around to returning them yet so now I can just do an exchange instead, thanks Ingrid.
Yep, the "rubber stamp" ones are pricey, and unfortunately more and more of the cd jewel case makers are going to the all one piece route. Before long those will be the only way to get them, too bad. I've gotten pretty good at popping that hub piece out of the other ones.

You're welcome, Stacy. I hope your store carries them. I tried to find a SKU number or something to help you identify what you'll be looking for, but there doesn't seem to be any. The package color scheme on mine is gold and magenta if that helps. I bought 3 packages (72 cases) last week just because I'm afraid they're going to discontinue them soon. That should cover me for a while :D Good luck.

I returned the others today but since son was with did not look for the others yet, will have to go by there next week when I'm alone. I just have to remember 24 in gold and magenta packaging. Thanks again!

I get mine at BIg Lots - 10 for $2.50. Sometimes they don't have any, other times they do. I also found some at a thrift shop - the one in Los gatos and I got like 10+ for 50 cents!

With all this talk of jewel cases changing and my recent growing collection of unmounted stamps I sent my dh on a search of the "older" kind of jewel cases and alas already "the S box place was sporting only the skinny ones...:( The hunt will be on now like a woman possessed...I may be looking at the kid's cd music cases and swapping them out to meet my growing needs! I have my first zippered binder and some starter pages but wow this is gonna take some better planning on my part!
At this point I had better leave my mounted stamps alone...besides some of them are works of art as is!
I love all the pointers everyone shares.
Thank you!

I have all my music in zipper binders and yep I used the now empty cases for UM's. The best part is I can grab a binder to take with for multiple music choices in the car now too.
I went by Staples to get my cases today and made sure to ask someone if they were the all in one type or the older style 2 piece cases. His response after he looked at them was "yes this is the older style that can be popped out". He must know a rubber stamper ;) .

Stacy, I'm glad you got the "right" kind of CD cases  Now let's hope that Staples continues to carry them. I don't have a Big Lots in my area and have not found the old style cases anywhere else but Staples in the last year or so.
