I'm open for suggestions on any new rooms you may want. I thought that once we get a little busier you may want a room for art swaps/round robins.

I was wondering if there would be enough interest for a gardening room. It could be for Veggies, flowers, herbs, etc. I am not that into it but I did just cut 25 blooms from my rose bush, thus the reason I thought of this.

Oh yeah, I thought of a couple of more:

"the media room"? to discuss, TV, music, movies and such

somewhere for quick hints, tips and money savers

How about a room for stamp convention stuff? It could include posts announcing conventions, people talking about which one they're going to next ("hey, who else is going to "X" convention?") so people could meet up in person while they're there if they like, comments/memories/photos from conventions people attended ("had a great time at ... really liked the ..."), etc.

(This is on my mind as I'm heaing to the Akron convention in about a week! Haven't been to one in years and can't wait to get there!!!!!!!)

I kinda thought people would use the Local Clubs for that but I could do a separate room too.

Ah, I see. Stamp conventions always involve travel for me because of where I live, so I didn't think of them as "local". But they'd fit fine there, perhaps just mention them in the little intro bit about the local clubs folder?

I like the idea of a convention room too--I never would have thought to look in local clubs for that--I just thought that would be people that meet at their local scrap or stmap store

No problem, I had figured that was what you were doing, especially since I posted them more as a wonder if there would be interest in... post. I was kinda looking to see if anyone would make coment yea or nay too.

On other forums, there some fun word games too, the are usually in the Lobby. Also, there are RAKs PIFs and wish lists. Nervousness and atcards have some great things to check out in their forums!

I too would like to see a garden room also, along with maybe ideas for using those veggies or ways to pot/plant companion flowers.

How about quick and easy recipes including side dishes you serve with the main dish. Stampers don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but do want a tasty meal for their families. We don't want to short change them.

A media room sounds good also.

thanks for taking all the ideas into consideration.:)

Try the 'Cafe' for recipes recommended by other RSC stampers & 'Entertainment' for conversations on what members are watching, reading & recommending. :D

I can make a game room but you all have to take care of starting the games. People are doing RAK's on their own but we can organize it as we get busier here....which is already happening :D. What's PIF? That's a new one to me.

A PIF is a Pay it forward. I'm not exactly how it begins, but I'll look it up on Nervousness, and post the info.

We'd all like more storage space so maybe a walk-in-closet with shelves?:D And a room with a view of the ocean. ~C8>

I've seen several PIFs and they usually start with one person offering up three small items (for example: a rubber stamp, handmade cards, and a stamp pad). The next person comes along and picks ONE item that they want and offers up three more to pick from. And it continues on like that.

The items are usually around a $3 (regular price) value - I picked the examples above because this is a stamping site. The PIFs I've seen are on scrapbook sites and the items include: handmade items, ribbons, Jolee's or similar 3-d stickers, packages of embellishments, rubber stamping supplies, etc. Usually the items we offer are items we already have in our stash that we probably aren't going to use ourselves. It's fun to "shop" someone else's stash and to recycle your own. When I'm out shopping and see a good deal, I usually pick up one extra to use as a PIF or RAK.

If the items don't get picked after the first few days, then the person who posted them replaces them with three more items.

The first person to post is usually volunteer that doesn't mind offering up the first three items.

Could you guys do PIF's in a Game Room?

PIF's could be done in the swap shop too, it hardly ever gets used.

I like that idea too. I can just change the description of the room to include PIF.

so, we would have a room with double duty? for swap shop, and for PIFs? Would games be able be done there too, or would they be in the not related to stamp chat (I don't remember what it's called, lol)
I have a game called do you remember when that I'd like to start, whenever we have a room to do it in.

OK, I'll open the Game Room and the Garden Center now. You can do PIF's in the Swap Shop...I'll edit the description for that room.

I'm a little unclear on what kind of games are we talking about. I'd love a good game of Go or Cribbage, but somehow, I don't think that's what we're talking about here.

Ummmm....and you think I know? I'm just as clueless! They do have a Game Room on the glass forum I'm on but I never go in there...
