I bought some luna light paints a while ago & decided to play with them yesterday. Well, everything I did, the paper curled something awful. Left them to dry but they are still curled. Help! Can you iron these? I'm thinking with a cover paper under & over with a medium temp on the iron. Suggestions are appreciated. My 2ed thought was to break out the plant press & use it for a few days. Thank you for all suggestions & feedback. ~C8>

sometimes alsmouse when i'm working with waterbased paints the paper curls. Most of the time if i can wet the other side of the paper it curls back the other way till it's almost flat. If the work is delicate and i haven't stretched the paper first i'll try laying the finished work on a damp paper towel until it's just damp enough to stick to a peice of old refigerator glass that i have just this sort of thing. I don't know how sensitive Luna Lights paints are to re-wetting so this might not work at all.

Bummer on the wrinkles and crinkles!! I don't know about flattening them, but if you iron, I'd try a very low setting.
It is best to use Luna Lights on glossy cardstock if you are doing the two sheets with LLs smooshed together if you want them to come out smooth. The plasticky surface and heavy weight paper holds up better to the water base.

You could also try cold press watercolor paper. I like to use at least 90lb when I'm doing wet techniques like watercolors & their stick cousins, crayons & pencils as well gamsol (art pencil & paint thinner). The H2O paper is designed to withstand getting pretty soaked w/o curling or wrinkling. Sometimes it will bulge a bit in the middle, but a paper towel to protect my still damp work and under a dictionary overnight seem to do the trick.
Yes, layering your geriatric piece between blank sheets of copy paper or news print and ironing it from the back on a low temp will help smooth it out. If you can't get it wet again there will still be some wrinkle lines, but think of them as caracture builders. :D

Didja know that paper the UPS labels comes on is the same paper as the luna lights paper and it's free, I tells 'ya... FREE! I used to save it for several local ladies to use. I've never used LL myself as it came from the other side but if anyone wants some to play with, just request it with your order from us and let me know how it works for you... or find someone who has a UPS account.

Drat, I've been googled. What will I tell the family? Tucker will be so embarassed. My witness protection is compromised, I'll have to move & change my name again. :o :o :)) :))

You're safe as it only had your screen name.
At least I know what Luna Light paints are now & where to get black glossy card stock. :D

It's the 8 1/2" x 11" sheets that are two up... actually, I use the non glossy side for printing... I can't bear to waste anything so use all sides and corners of every piece of paper...

Are you saying you use the release paper from UPS self adhesive printed labels to paint Luna Lights on? :confusion:
