Ok, Its time again to think about themes.
I will be drawing the swap alittle later do to the Holiday.
What should our theme be?

I was thinking "stamper" might make a fun swap theme!

There are so many images & words relating to stamping out there, that some of them might live in the collections of our RSC swappers.

But I'm good for what ever the group decides. :D

OOOOOH! I like the idea of doing "moon" cards! Celestial moons, not the other kind. (Tho' I now have a great image of Nun's mooning that would be really funny.) I think alsmouse's list of September moon names provide a wonderful creative starting point for all kinds of artistic exploration.

Just my 2 cents worth, but as I have a jar of pennies available, y'all just have to deal. :D

I vote for Moons too (either kind is ok by me). For work, since the site is OH SO PC, I usually do seasons, solstices & equinoxes as cards for my team. You just can't offend someone with Nature.
Hey, All the Vendors: How about more stamps related to equinoxes? We get two solstices & two equinoxes each "year". I've found a few companies have items for the solstices but, there are very few items available for the equinoxes. Some good greetings & quotes for both would be lovely. Thanks for the consideration.

Yup, it goes with the Birkenstocks & granola crowd. I have lived here over 15 years & I still can't get over folks in winter, after a good snow storm or a good ice storm, wearing Birkenstocks with wool sox, shorts & down parkas. :))

The accents are VERY different!

For the best hippy fun time on the west coast, I recommend the Oregon Country Fair. That is, if they're still doing it. I got the best tie dyed dress & large brimmed packable hat there one year....one can see many moons at the fair too as it is clothing optional after 4pm.

All right, now you folks are making fun of my East Coast birks and yes I do wear them with socks, preferably some cashmere or silk, during the winter and a fleece home-made jacket with leather gloves. Actually I am fortunate to NOT be on crutches or have orthopedics in all my shoes a la my mother and I give credit to my Birkenstocks. Yes, I get laughed at by my kids, etc., but at least I'm mobile. I also get laughed at for my boots when it gets really, really cold so I guess I need to find a 'slip on' pair of something for this winter.

Since I'm now working and pup has tried to destroy my last 'good' pair, over 3 years old, I'm really thinking of buying a new pair, stamping with them and then following the moon theme for this swap! Actually these might work for the background since they usually have to special order my size. Now for the rest of the design. . .

--I'm not laughing at your birks. I own at least 4 pair & my feet don't hurt like they did when I wore "office" shoes. Poo on all the fashionistas whose feet hurt. Mine don't & I'm a happy gal for it. As for laughing at your boots, check out some of birkies closed toe collection. They are still ugly but they are great for winter. Sis calls them my mushroom shoes. I don't recommend "slip ons" in winter as they are "fall downs" for me on icey days.

I am up for anything - moons, mooning, school. What great suggestions all around. I would write more but I need to brush my 8 pairs of Birkies (I even have patterned ones, ones with the Australian flag and plastic ones. And yes, I have perfect little feet from them, no orthotics and bunions or corns. Thanks Mom for the ugly brown shoes when I was growing up, they really worked!)

Birkies are the BEST!!! Dh is German (like born in Germany German) and grew up with them. He introduced me to them 15 years ago & we rarely wear anything else. You're right, they're not the best for deep snow. But we don't get much snow around here, so that's ok. My Uber Birkie Clogs handle light snow and all rain just dandy. Wearing Birkies also allows me to show off my hand knit socks. :D

I ain't pokin' no fun at anyone's hippiness! Least of all my own.

Check out Meer Images nekkid & nearly nekkid guy stamps! I have the one of a nekkid guy from behind with an innertube around his waist. Too funny! :))

It seems as tho' the celstial moon and/or mooning moon are tickling everyone's creative funny bone for Sept. The question I have now is are we going to go with the celestial or the naughty moon? Or leave it up to the individual stamper as to which they send out?

Possibly a month to NOT let your kids open the mail! :))

Hey! I just had a thought (don't worry, nothing broke), what if we each did 2 cards for 2 different people? It wouldn't be too much more effort than one card & we'd get a chance to do one celestial & one naughty moon if we wanted.

Just thinking out loud. Taniwolf called for the swap, so it's her decision. :D

Hi I think whatever Moon calls to you.;)
I don't have any funny moons so, mine is a regular moon.
But i can take a list for 2 cards and 1 for 1 card.
Then everyone can be happy on how many they should make.
Sounds like fun. lol

AI'm pretty sure that no inchies would fall in but glom onto the outside making the moons bigger yet. I can add my own inchies by my self thank you! Isn't that what Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia & Dove Dark Hot Sauce for??? Though Tucker thinks the Dove is for decorating the furniture with until he can lick it off his paws. (see, clever) good thing the one chair is coated to protect it from being ratted. When I special ordered it I took a swatch of the fabric home & rat tested it. Rat couldn't damage it so I ordered the chair & asked them to double spray the fabric guard on it & to do the corners 3x. The owner thought I was nuts but I took Albie in to the shop & then he did the whole thing 4x for free. ~C8>

Too bad Scotch guard doesn't work to keep cats from clawing the furniture. We've tried sprays (both on the furniture & at the cats), covering the damaged areas with pet screen (they can't claw thru' it when it's on the windows, but don't seem to have any trouble going thru' it on the furniture), providing appropriate carpeted cat toys for scratching & climbing, and being stern with them when we catch them at it (they don't like it when mom & dad are grumpy at them), but nothing seems to work as NO! to a cat means "do it when the humans aren't in the room". :))

It isn't a matter of hearing the sounds of claws rendering cloth, calling out for the cat to stop then going into the room & verbally reprimanding the offender while physically removing them from the area of undesired behavior. Here's how it usually goes:

I hear sounds of fabric damage being done & call out for the perpetrator to stop. I go into the room where the victim is quietly bleeding stuffing and see 2 or more furry faces with angelic "I wouldn't do that to your heirloom chair, mom!" expressions and none of them anywhere near the immediate scene of the crime. Who do I reprimand? Right. So I've resigned myself to scruffy furniture for now & someday hope to get either the old beloved pieces re-upholstered or replaced. Of course, the cats will just scratch everything new or re-newed as soon as I get it in the door. I luv' my cats anyway!

P.S. NO I won't de-claw them to save the furniture! My cats do go outside & some of them really like to hunt and a de-clawed cat often quickly becomes a serverely injured or dead cat without claws to defend themselves or to enable them to climb to safety. :(

Got Resting Rabbit's card today - it's so much cuter in real life!

The piece that Art Kar thinks is Krylon Marbles accent paper is actually a polished stone paper I made myself with alcohol inks - I had a hard time getting the 'piece' that I wanted for two cards so I was cutting and designing, cutting and designing.

I didn't take a picture since I really wanted to get the out in the mail; if either of you have the capability it would be great if you can upload to the gallery to share with the rest of the folks.

Well, I didn't make three so I think we can wait, Art Kar. Don't stress. I'm now under orders to get my pix done so eldest can take the camera to the Friday night high school homecoming game. She's on the yearbook committee, don't ya know. Think this will become her camera and I'll eventually get something better, at least that's the plan if she doesn't complain it's too complicated.

And Inky Whiskers, what are we going to do with you? My 17 and 14 year old daughters won't know what to do with your card. Ah, can't display it when the 17 year old's boyfriend is around either.
