 Don't you just hate it when you are almost done stamping something and then drop an inked stamp right in the middle. Darn it :swear:

Yup!! I sure do. That happened to me when I dropped my pen onto a faux leather embellishment on this card. There wasn't anything I could do to remove it, so just decided to think of it as his ear or sideburns.... :eyeroll:

This wasn't the only time, just one that I recently came across that reminded me of this type of accident.

Oh well.

Funny you should mention that... (well, not funny since I know your frustration).

Just last week I'd almost finished a complete scene, went to add the last touch (some little bitty birds in the air) and dropped the black stamp pad right on blue water and blue sky.  I was NOT impressed with myself. Ah well, next time maybe I'll remember not to hold the ink pad over the work when inking. I doubt it though.

Mine too was scenic stamping, couldn't happen on something that we only use a stamp or two on could it.:hissy: I had brown "cracked earth" in my sky. Tried to lift it off with a wet brush but since I wasn't using watercolor paper (wasn't planning on needing it this time) it just balled up in that area. Decided to walk away last night, if I have time today I'll try to fix it, otherwise guess it will sit there for a while. Since it is right in the middle and scenic I can't cover with an embellishment either.

cmcveigh that is an incredible western card, ear and all  .

Oh Boy! I know what you mean, ladies!

Many's the time I've 'oopsed' & it's turned out to be a 'good' thing, but those times when it ain't have often allowed me to become better acquainted with various shades of 'blue' [language]! With a German heritage, my 'naughty' words have more than four letters...:eyeroll:

You guys need to use my trick when doing scenes. Stamp the scene on multiple sheets of paper so you have a few good ones done to choose from before coloring in. Scenes require the use of so many stamps that it's just too easy to screw up especially when you only do one master.

Thanks, Stacy!! At the point the pen landed, it was too late for me to start over again, and it was the leather-like embelishment that got the ink and I only had that one.

About your "cracked earth" in the sky -- would it be possible to cut the sky portion out, leaving the area below to be used as a new panel on top of another sky scene?? Or is it too complicated for that?

Nope, right at the horizon line, of course :eyeroll: .

I feel a single white cloud in the sky coming on. Not sure, I'm going to leave it until I come back from vacation. Refreshed mind and all.

About the time that happens to me I start layering and layering in hopes of covering up my faux paux. Or it ends up in my scrap box for future playing and alas I start over...sigh...

Yep. Been there. Hate it! Another thing is when you're stamping the inside verse and the side of your hand (unbeknownst to you) has some ink on it and when you stamp, right next to the verse is a SMUDGE:cry:
