How can the send me an email saying there is wonderful and exciting news and great changes happening and then when I go to the website I get sent somewhere else, a scrapbookers site. The projects and videos I had in my "box" - gone : forum where I talked with stampers from all over the world - gone : the gallery where we all spent time uploading artwork some even yesterday just before you people made it disappear -gone. :swear:
In case you didn't notice, the people who participated on your site weren't scrappers, the are stampers and no that is not the same thing. I realize mergers and buyout happen but how rude can a company be to take away a community without advance warning and then have the nerve to make that sound like a good thing. :confusion:

Sorry that happened Stacy. Is there a way for you to get word out about RSC to everyone that was at that site?

Working on it! Unfortunately there was virtually no advance warning so I couldn't get email addresses from everybody. Got up yesterday morning to an email from the company saying "something exciting was going to happen sometime today" meaning yesterday and to keep checking the website. Then later that day poof it was gone, it took you to a different site entirely.
I have talked via email to a couple of members that I did have addresses for today and we are trying to share emails to each others. Of course I've been telling them all that they needed to come join up here, so maybe this will finally get them to do so.
Most frustrating part is all the information and how to instructions I lost. I did have some video's but my mp3 crashed and I had to reformat and hadn't gotten around to reloading them. My fault, can you say procrastination darn it.
Oh well, live and learn. I bet with all the talent here I learn lots more hanging out here anyway.:p

What does a stamper do when they are feeling frustrated and mad:
1) goes to their local rubberstamp store to soak in the enviroment:lovie:
2) Stamp, stamp, stamp:clap:
feeling better now, still frustrated but not so much now:p

As a fellow member of that site, Stacy, I'm less than a happy camper, too.
But... If that place hadn't shut down, I wouldn't have been introduced to this place...
Looking forward to exploring & sharing here...

Another rubber stamp list I was on appears to have bitten the dust and I hear rumblings that another major one may go down the end of July...

Bring em all over here! I think the one that may close at the end of the month is Gingerwood....right? I had someone post over there about RSC and the post was deleted. I would hope that the owner of that list would want all of the posters to be able to reconnect somewhere else online. But then I guess Sugarloaf didn't seem to care when they yanked their message board. Don't worry....RSC isn't going anywhere!

So who else already closed? If they are already gone then you can tell can't you?
I realize the closing of a forum ultimately is a business decision and they can't always tell the members ahead of time about coming changes. But at some point, preferably sooner rather than later the members should be given the courtesy of being contacted.
Sugarloaf emailed all of us that morning "to keep checking the website for a big announcement sometime today". So we all know they realized we were out there and could contact us but after the "announcement" they didn't bother to:
1) let us know if a new forum was in the works
2) give us a link to the old one, even temporarily so we could say goodbye, exchange emails, etc.
3)This is the biggie IMO: Thank us or even acknowledge that we had been active in a community they started and had encouraged.
They have yet to date to my knowledge said one way or another if a forum is even being considered for the future. They have been completely silent to or about their treatment of their community patrons. They can't possibly not be aware of how we feel right now. I am not one to complain publicly about anyone, be it a person or a company usually but this was poor planning, than has grown and multiplied because of their continued silence. A simple "we are sorry...we should have found a way .....we are or are not going to continue the forum because...etc..." would have gone a long way for me. I even thought OK it was announce on a Friday, its the weekend they don't realize yet that they forgot us but on Monday we will surely hear from them. It is now Tuesday night and still nothing. Actually that's not completely true, when they realized today that some had found a way back into the forum and were posting messages to each other again they added a link that took you to the new website, IE.. locked everybody out again.

I am passing this along to anyone that was a sugarloaf member from Dee of Herfordshire:
Well, I have enjoyed meeting you all and I thank you for sharing your time with me. I sincerely hope that life will be very kind to you all, and I won't forget you.
I know not everyone will manage to get on here now, so anyone reading this please pass my good wishes on to them if you have contact.
God Bless, Dee (Hertfordshire)

I can't tell if Gingerwood has already gone or what... I can't bring up their bulletin boards... there WAS a post that it might just suddenly disappear...

 I can't believe they just shut us down without so much as a "fair thee well", but I'm sure glad we had this site to chat at! I did go to sugarloaf this morning and people are still uploading to the gallery though. All of my cards were still there, as I thought I'd lost them. But when you click on the Stamp Talk link, it opens up the Inque Botique website. Bummer....
Hope we can all stay in touch here!

But there was a little message board on Sugarloaf that is now gone. That's what everyone is upset about. But everyone is welcome here and RSC isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Hi Tracy T, Fliss and I thought it was kind of weird that someone is still uploading to the gallery too, lol. I am glad you are here too and that you and Amy are figuring out the gallery, you have some great stuff to display, can't wait till some of it is in your gallery here.
Mulitcrafter, thank you for the link you provided but what we are talking about when we say "missing" is the message board or forum. Yes Sugarloaf is technically not gone, just merged with Inique and a new website has been created. However, the message forum we belonged to at the old website is gone and they have decided not to have one at the new site. We are just frustrated at not being able to get back in to say goodbye and exchange email addresses to friends we made there.

Stacy,
Have you thought about posting a message on Gingerwood (I would do it today) asking if there are any Sugarloaf people there and if so, have them email you for the place you're now at (here!). She's been deleting most posts that have a link to RSC in it....strange, she leaves a long thread about Splitcoast up though....go figure?

I noticed that, too -- almost immediately. However, there's one from "Lisa" today posted in the Splitcoast thread that has not been deleted all day. I don't get the discrimination.
Oh well.:eyeroll:
