I needed a light box last night for a project I was working on when I happened to spy one of the drawers to one of my plastic bins. DH said, that will work and went out into the shop area to get some things. Here's what we came up with and it worked great!

Having a creative spouse sure comes in handy at times. Lucky you, AQ.

Your DH is a "Keeper" for sure! That is a great idea!

Great idea, Roberta!! I would never have tho't of using the plastic drawer!

Previously, I acquired the stuff to make a makeshift lightbox (glass from an old picture frame, bricks left over from our house, and a florescent light similar to yours, that my friend gave me). I've never used them! Then, last week, I found a light box for a song at a yard sale! Suppose I'll ever use it? :noway: :))

You never know when that baby will come in handy...tomorrow...next week...next month...you must have gotten it with something in mind, I would be willing to wager...:D

I did. I got a stencil AGES ago, and still haven't used it! :( Maybe this will get my rear in gear!

There are always technique swaps going on. Or, you could join us over in the Fat Cards swap and show us your handiwork there...just some ideas...

Great idea. I took one of those lidded 12x12 paper storage boxes, lined it with sliver mylar & installed a 'tap' light. Works great & when I finally get a real light box I can use it for 12x12 storage.

I love hearing and coming up with ideas that enable me to, in the end, purchase more stamps! :D

What a great idea, i sure never thought of that one. I have been know to hold paper and stencil up to a window or put a small florescent lamp under my glass coffee table but both are hard on the eyes even if they did work.

Thank you. With Daylight Savings Time (where's the savings???) it gets dark fairly early and even if it doesn't, the weather can make natural lighting fairly non-existent. The light itself is pretty cool, too, as there are two toggle switches - one for half light and one for full. So happy DH has some things for his shop...:clap::clap:
