Amy keeps saying to enter the ATC contests that Heirloom has so I though I would give it a try. The theme is "Fun at the Fair", and that is where I am stuck. I don't have any midway ride stamps so I am trying to take a different approach. Seems counter productive to but stamps for a stamp convention.
Here are my ideas let me know what you think or if you have one.
Quilt stencil with Mom stamp like she just won a ribbon
Homemade jars of preserves, for sale or won a ribbon
Bucking bronc rider, this is Texas and our state fair does have a rodeo.
Ice cream, soft drink, yummies, who doesn't over eat at one.
Car stamps - the car show is always popular, except my stamps are an antique car and a foam VW.
:confusion: What do y'all think? I can enter up to 2 different ones.

I think they are all great ideas. You are very creative. I especially like the quilting prize, the canning prize or the ice cream and candy ideas. Just go for it, and I hope you win!

Yum! Me I'd go for the preserves. I used to do this, it's strawberry time
here and I feel guilty when I don't make jam.
On the other hand we don't eat PBandJ sandwiches and they cost a lot to
ship cross country to our various friends. . .

I vote for the Texas fair themes! :applause:
I've entered their ATC contest before and yeah, deciding between doing what you think the judges will like best and doing what you will like best is always a toughie. I say go for what embodies the theme most for YOU! Sometimes the winners aren't the most technically perfect or the stereotypical ideal for the theme, but rather the more personal unique approach to the theme.
One year I made a Stamper themed stick pin for Auntie Amy's pin contest using a wooden cutout of a stamp w/curled wires sticking out that had lil shrink plastic pieces with stamping phrases glued on the ends. The thing was rather chaotic & very colorful. It was something that wouldn't appeal to everybody, but was SO me! There were several gorgeous technically perfect entries, but most of them were run of the mill ideas. Guess who won with her unorthodox creation? :))
Do what you love & that love will shine through every time! :lovie:

Stacy, you can also enter as many ATC's as you want. Also, you can bring them on both Saturday and Sunday. I think all of your ideas sound great. I like the bucking bronco myself.

Good point about being able to enter both days.

That is a great theme--all of your ideas are great! Yes, be sure to enter more than one--we have been at shows where few few are entered into the contest! A fair is more than rides, so your themes sound perfect! Our fair has all the ribbons and sheep, and cows, rabbits, chickens, flowers, drag races and so much more than just the rides. It even has an entry for scrapping and stamping ;-}

I love this forum, you guys are all awesome. Hey MaryAnn, guess you'll be the only one to see them in person, unless StampalotSue or Joanofgos come to the convention.
