Was wondering if any of you ladies have ever heard of or made card candy? Not sure who came up with this idea but on another site I frequent, a bunch of ladies started hosting swaps with this theme. What card candy is: it is like the jolee's embellishments that you buy at the store, only you hand make them yourself, then you adhere the repositionable adhesive to the back and then package them up in a bag with a bag topper that says: card candy. I didn't join any swaps but I did make some of my own just for fun. They remind me of the inchies a little bit in the sense that you make them small usually. I have used my SU tag punch for many of the embellishments. I can probably post a pic if anyone is interested.
Thanks and I hope I didn't confuse anyone.

Nope, I'm not confused a'tall as I used to give Card Candy away as door prizes. :)

They make a great gift to somebody who likes hand made cards, but doesn't think they're creative enough to design the whole card themselves.

And yes, the SU! tag punches are great for making Card Candy and gift tags too!

Sound like a great way to use and share those bits and pieces we make and collect instead of putting them away in a box. Lol, not that I ever do that!:eyeroll: :))

hmmm, do I hear a card candy swap in the works? A good way to redirect your bits & pieces.

I wonder how Texas is doing compared to Washington. We set a new all time state record last November for 15.5 inches falling in one 30 day month. Alll that rain made a mess and it surely didn't help to have snow right after Thanksgiving weekend then 2 weeks later the wind storm blew thru' knocking the power out for a week.

So Stacy, I can really sympathize with your desire for the weather to improve!!! This too shall pass...

Oh my that is a lot! We have now gotten more rain this year than we got all last year, and we were still in a drought for the first few months of this year. Not sure about exact numbers, Bob is the weather geek who reads up on this stuff. He's the one who told me about having now gotten more rain than last year.

If we do one of these do we have to call it candy, makes me think I'm going to get calories from participating.

Actually my July swap card is almost finished, cause I was thinking the same thing. :p Alsmouse, your grandma's card is rattling around in my head right now too. Haven't gotten brave enough to begin thinking out my altered tin yet.

It's lo-cal. only nutrition you would get is minerals from brads & wires, & fiber from paper. LOL How many calories is PVA glue??

While GM's card is rattling around in your head, shove some rattle over to my head. I've had so many ideas and just can't pick the right one. Help, I can't make a decision! :o

Texas wins the rain game! I heard on the news tonight that central Texas has had over 20 inches in the last 10 days or so.

So it really does suck to be you if you live in Texas right now. :(

Guess we need to cross our fingers that it doesn't get any worse in Texas!
I wonder if altered tins float; mine probably wouldn't because I'd stuff them
full of chocolate!

Late this spring we had one of the worst in 100 years rainfall and we saw
water lapping the bridge up 6 inches on the lowest girder. The vet's
office called to ask if we were going to have trouble getting the puppy
to them. Fortunately we are on the high end of the street and don't even
have to buy flood insurance.

The humidity here is awful! Makes embossing powders icky and half the
time my adhesive doesn't want to stick correctly. Not to mention that it
lengthens ink drying time. . .

The tin I was going to alter might make a good rat boat, if he's not too big!

It depends on the tin. If "altoid" size, no. he would have sunk that 3 weeks. Now at almost 3 months it would have to be a quart paint can. If it had been his predessor, it would have been a gallon paint can. Albie was a big boy & would have needed the extra displacement of H2O to hold him up. Actually it might have needed a 3 gallon plastic paint bucket. He liked his choc chips. LOL
Tucker dosen't like " normal sweets" like chocolate (strange rat) but prefers an "atkins" diet. He is still a baby so may be late in developing his taste buds.
The strangest rat was one who was completly vegetatrian, they are supposed to eat anything.
Hopefully, the rain stops soon for all of you. I understand cabin crazy.
