Oh for shame here it is Cinco de Mayo and the stamp convention starts tomorrow!
I found a new website that was chock full of fabulas events and celebrations for May...truly 4 pages worth and far too many to narrow down but since I started late I wanted in to toss out a "Challenge" to those that wanted to play and ask you to make a card based on a unique specific style.
The card can be any kind, greeting, celebration, just because...your choice
but the type of style you put into this card is based on:
"STEAM PUNK"
Now just exactly what is Steam Punk? You can google it and check it out. Hint...Think of the remake movie "Wild, Wild, West," Victorian influence, era of the invention of Steam....metals, brass, cogs wheels, technology based on the Steam era...lots of metalics-metals, nuts and bolts, manual typewriters
If you google "Steam Punk" you will find some wonderful inspiration and there is a true following out there... Think of the movie "League of Extrodinary Gentlemen."
Example I found was someone took their computer and converted it using old typewriter keys and metal and screws and really neat items to make it useful with todays world but relevant to the Steam era when there were no computers....Think Industrial, think of Tim Holtz new Sizzix cogs and wheels, or anything victorian! Are you game? Do you wanna play?
Some of it can be bizzare but go google and see if it holds interest to you and if you want to play sign up!
I will try to put up some links for you to see in a bit. I think it could be fun and very open to your own ideas with a twist or two...
