Anyone up for an altered tin challenge? My husband has brought home a couple of small silver tins from work and they are calling to me. I have never done anything like this but want to try so who will play along with me?

Cool Taniwolf! Anyone else want to alter a tin and then show it off? Any theme and any size...

Gotta check my stash... I remember a lunch box was here somewhere. Or a couple of those CD tins that "you know who" used to send us in the mail..Free 1800 hours when you joined.

How long do we have to get'er done? Remember to use some sandpaper if you are painting it..And Modge Podge takes forever to dry..so use a sealant spray instead for the final protective coating. (done a few heavy metal items b4..and made all the OPPS)

I just wanted to say...that I have altered a few quart size paint cans and they are so much fun. I have painted on them and have also adhered patterned paper to them. I made a bunch for Christmas presents for my family and they loved them and also made some for Christmas gifts for my daughter's teachers.

Okay, anyone who wants alter a tin should check in here once it is completed. Then upload a picture(s) to the altered section of the gallery by mid month. :applause:

Theme, style and size of tin is: OPEN (makers' choice :) )

If you can do more than one, the more the better! Even if you are new and just reading this please feel free to jump right in. We're just testing our creativity and having some fun along the way. Everyone is welcome to join us in that! :D

Hi Stacy,
Sure I can be here for advice. If I have some time I will alter a tin as well and post it. Great idea!
Thanks,

Here's an altoid tin that I altered into an accordion mini book holder.

I saw the idea on the T2G DVD "10 Quick and Easy Mini books" by Alexa Joy. :)

:D Mine is done and in the gallery! That was fun I might have to do another!

Taniwolf don't worry about it, whenever you get time. This was just supposed to be for fun and experience, no stressing out allowed :) .

Checked at home and found I have a tin I can play with. I have never done this before but given the advice on-line already (about Modge Podge and the like), I am going to give it the old college try!;)
