Valentines Art Doll Swap Sign-up!

Anyone up for a Valentines art doll swap? <3<3<3

Make a doll with a Valentines theme. This swap is open to any RSC member who is interested.

Guidelines: this swap is for a medium (6”) to large art doll (9”). The doll must include at least two stamped images (or more) and should have a valentines theme.

You will have until January 19 to sign up. Once again, you will send your completed doll to your swap buddy directly. I will draw the swap buddies once we have everyone signed up. The dolls should be mailed on or before Feb. 26 (sorry I started this so late this time, but a valentine is great anytime).

As this is a holiday swap, you really can incorporate holiday images from ANY of the RSC vendors, but the above vendors are ones that have art doll templates or parts listed when I did a "art doll" search.

This weekend I will look at the last two art doll swaps we have done and try to get everyone a new partner that they have not swapped with before. Let me know if there are any objections to doing this rather than the old 'pick the name out of the hat' method I used the past two times. I will then post the partners.

Take a look in the gallery under swaps for some samples. I also have quite a few in my album.

Check the first post for links to printing out an art doll itself...and there is also one on mirkwood designs...not sure if that is on the first link or not, but it is the one I used last time and am using this time because there is a face already there on the doll itself...yay!

Hi Stacy, I'm here...not buried under the snow, thankfully the storm missed us so it's safe to send it along! I'm still working on yours, my muse is giving me the run around and can't make up her mind...hopefully she will settle on something soon :)

You certainly cooked up a sweet doll for me. She's lovely! You used some great textures and colors, and I love those red shoes. The moveable rolling pin is a nice touch, too. I look forward to your description of the details in the gallery.

I tried again to learn to post. I read the camera instruction book and learned how to take photos of my dolls. Yea! Got that far! Tried to get them in My Documents and now they are lost somewhere in that infinite list of files! Can't find them anywhere! Aaaaargh! So frustrating that I can't even do that much. Oh, well. I guess I will have to get my sweet, smart DIL to help me.

Thank You, the book is titled, "HeartThrob Dating Service". I took the velum left over from making the skirt and made a book out of it. There is a collage of the book's insides in my gallery.

:o i'm sorry Teena, i will have to start over on your doll, my exisiting doll for you was damaged. Weather related issues and events, and another snow fall on the way. :eek: I'm not sure the ceiling will hold up to anymore water leaking through..... and it's coming down in my workroom now too. I'll move stuff and start again. I hope to have her finished early next week.

Don't worry, jannine...I'm a really patient person, its OK! I know it's coming...yours is too...but I had to come home from work sick today...stomach virus thingy...headache...all that....ugh...

Hoping to feel better tomorrow and to be able to visit the local scrapbook store to get the finishing touch for your doll...I'll let you know if it makes the post office on Saturday, or if she has to wait till Monday...sigh...

So we are in the same boat...kinda...sorta...

Thank you to everyone who participated! Sorry I have been MIA - we purchased a house in Feb. and have been dealing with that. I have all my stamping stuff all packed up and ready to go.
