Ok people. Getting ready to get the sign up for
the July swap.
Who wants to come up with the topic of the swap?
lets gets some ideas.

Well, we used to always go away to the Cape (Cod) for two weeks in
July when I was a kid. I've got some stamps from RSTapestry and Amy's
little guy on the beach plus some others and need to get hustling to
use them.
Of course a beach isn't always the ocean so folks could get into lakes,
streams, etc.
How do we do swaps, 1 to 1, 5 plus 1 for the hostess? Need to figure out
if/how I can play.

I'm interested. "Beach" sounds good to me. Keep me updated on specifics.

I would love to do something with a "beach" theme. But I will need guidance as well as I am brand new to this website and am not sure sizes or numbers. Thank you, Nancy

LOL, so is this website and some of it's members (me), pretty much making it up as we go. If you have an idea, it is more than welcome!

I don't have any conventions later in July so I hope I can play in one of these down the road! Right now I am up to my ears in getting ready for two shows back to back!

You all do the vote. As long as I can take the projects to work, the amount of cards doesn't matter. I love my job, as long as I can answer the phone & put the project down if I need to, I can do as as many projects as I want. And all the site managers check to see the latest project completed. I currently have 3 promotion, a 100 yr b-day, a gift box of cards for the 100 yr old & all the swaps I agreed to. So you all decide how many & I'll add them to the list. I don,t take a tote bag to work, I take a rolling suitcase of art supplies, by project. Plus, I also plan our work team's site art projects.(How do have time to answer a phone???) I may start taking orders soon too. I must be crazy.

I haven't gone there (atc's) yet, also. So am hoping I rememberd it right. I don't know if I am ready to add one more line to my crafts.

Just checking since ATC's seem to be the "in thing" these days and I didn't want to send the wrong thing. :)
I've only made one ATC so far (for the Sprinfield show), but they fascinate me...just not sure I'm creative enough. But I'm doing my research and maybe someday soon I'll have something I can post here. This is a great site and I love getting to see what others have done. Everyone does such wonderful work!!

I got my card done today! I just need to know who to post it to. . .but
when Taniwolf posts the list. . .I'll be at the beach with darling daughters
and their friends. At least that's the current plan unless the
weather gods' frown on us.

Okay, newbie here...trying not to just "lurk"...what is it to be swapped? ATC's, cards, fronts...any or all of the above?
Thanks,
Michelle

Michelle. This swap is a one for one card swap with a beach theme this time around. It closes on the 5th if you are interested, feel free to say "I want in" right here on this thread. Taniwolf is going to draw names on the 6th and post the result of who is giving a card to whom. This will be only our third swap, so don't be afraid to join in, we're all newbies so to speak.:p

I got my July card swap from my new friend CatStamper in Canada - the envelope was as beautiful as the card! I love the card and it will be going over my art table shortly.
Just a question - when we swap cards, do we leave them blank inside? I sent mine to Stacy in Texas and wasn't sure, so I left the card blank inside and sent a blank envelope in case she wanted to use it for something. Is there proper etiquette for swaps that I do not know about? (I am such a newbie!) :confusion:
Educate me people!

PS: August swap?

07-18-2007, 04:41 PM
I've wondered the same thing :confusion: , we never really set that rule. I have been trying to send mine with a changeable inside like vellum. Guess that needs to be decided on before the August swap. :p

Most of the swaps I've done (pre RSC) were just card fronts. Unless the card design really needs the back, it's just another piece of card stock to store and takes up room. (When your sample boxes are full and you're out of shelf room for more boxes, removing the backs where possible can give you at least a quarter if not half of your storage space back.) When an "innie" is desired, I just stamp it on the back of the card front above my signature stamp. If I want to send the sample out as a card, I just attach it to a card blank & go from there.
There are no hard & fast rules that everybody uses when it comes to swapping. The closest I've seen are:
1) Follow the rules for the particular swap you're doing.
2) If you say you'll do it, do it on time.
3) Do your own work, submitting somebody else's work is tacky.
Everything else (size, theme, materials used, innies & envies) is subject to the whim of the swap coordinator. :p
Since RSC is so new with stampers from all over, we get to figure it all out as we go and make changes as desired with each swap. Ain't that kewl? :D

Glad the card made it to you and that you are enjoying it, Nancy! I posted it in the swap gallery if anyone wants to check it out.
Xray Amy - in editing my picture and trying to get it into multiple categories, I ended up with two copies in the scenic gallery by mistake. Could you please delete one of the copies from there? I couldn't figure out how to delete a copy from scenic without deleting all the copies from all the galleries (posted to swap, member, and scenic). Thanks.

Michelle, I got the card today. It's really nice and I wish I could go there!
(Just had a blow out with both daughters. . .we're attempting to go to the
lake on vacation and the work schedule is not leaving any of us with much
time to just relax on the beach except for the eldest who insisted on it.)
I'll take a picture once I figure out how to use this new camera so everyone
gets a chance to see it. Love the stamped envelope, too!

I'm so glad you liked it! That seemed to be the reaction of everyone who's seen that stamp..."I wanna be there!". It reminds me of a specific beer commercial. I don't even drink beer, but the whole feeling is of relaxation, isn't it? Sure hope schedules ease up for you so you can get at least a little R & R before the summer's gone :)

While we wait for the picture, could you tell me what stamp (company and image) that is? Some of my favorite stamps picture those relaxing places we'd all like to go to... I just might have to look for the stamp you used!

Alsmouse - Your card arrived today, thank you! I will try to post a photo of it in the swap gallery in the next few days.
I love the girl looking at the sunset on the beach. I actually have that stamp but got it unmounted, so I have no idea what company it is from. Do you know who makes it?
Thanks again for the lovely card!
