Thanks to a very jolly gentleman we have been rescued from the very scary forests of Transylvania. Best of all he invited us to come visit him at his home for a while. As you will notice we are currently cruising along above the tree tops and houses in a magical sleigh that is being pulled by reindeer that can fly!!. What fun, yes Mr Claus I would very much like another cookie, thank you!

This is a make one get one postcard swap, the theme is 'Santa Claus and the North Pole'. You will need to sign up by Dec 8th and have your postcard to your recipient before Christmas. Please be sure to allow extra mailing due to the holiday season!

Instead of a card swap this is a postcard swap, like the ones you buy and send while on vacation. It need to aproximately 4 inches by 6 inches in size but can be as small as 3" x 5", made on a sturdy enough card stock to hold its own in the handling process at the Post Office and be colored in a method that won't rub off such as chalks/pastels. I have been using 8 1/2 x 11 glossy card stock cut into fourths and coloring with markers and pencils. I have not had any problems. I have received postcard from others made on card stock that was probably 120 weight and even on water color paper a few times. Just about any coloring method has been used, you could probably even use chalks as long as you seal the card really well before sending out. I even used embossing powder (single layer) last time and it made it thru fine. You don't need a special "Post Card" stamp for the back either, I use a narrow border stamp or something to divide the back in half.

Postcards are cheaper to send too , almost half the price. Some swappers have a hard time trusting their "babies" to the outside world and put it in an envelope and pay regular price, up to each swapper. I always recommend sending as a postcard though, to me part of the fun of collecting them is the cancellation on the back. Make them just like any other postcard you would have received and saved for a collection.

A lot of us have really gotten into making "fake" messages on the back too such as having a really good time here in where ever, went on a tour of so and so. Wish you were here...... etc. We gear each one to the destination of the month.

You are not required to play each month either, it is up to everyone to join or not from month to month as time, etc allows. Since you only have to make one, there is not a lot of time commitment so come on and join the tour group we'd love to have you "hop on board the bus". :D

sign me up please...i can do something...not sure what..but will think hard about it...and yes, it is so much easier doing a postcard...it doesn't take as long and before you know it your done...come on wolfeyesone...join us...just cut out a cardstock square, but make it sturdy / and decorate one side and draw a line down the back on the opposite side and write their name and address on it.. mail it away...so fun

not weird, CREATIVE!! ;)

Yeah!! glad both of you decided to join us, can't wait to see what you come us with.

Hint, don't do as the hostess does half the time: Remember to take a picture before you send the postcard out. I got spoiled with ATC's because since I always kept one it didn't matter, lol. I usually remember as I'm pulling into the driveway from mailing it out :noway:.

Nope you're not too late, it just opened up as a matter of fact. Bummer about the car, try to not stress too much and enjoy the "extended" vacation time some. Easier said than done I know but try anyway.

Anyone else want to make a postcard to send to a fellow stamper? The theme is Santa and the North Pole. What could be better than using some of those wonderful Christmas stamps you have while listening to Bing croon a song, a plate of cookies and a mug of cheer near by.

InkyJo,

Your postcard arrived today - GORGEOUS!!!:)

I have some of that two-color paper, but haven't used it yet. Which embossing folder is that deer? I thought I saw somewhere you were using the Cuttlebug, which I have, but I haven't seen that deer.

I haven't done my holiday cards yet (yikes - I know!), and I may just use yours as inspiration with my two-toned paper.

I got your great Santa post card, Stacy! I love your colors and textures!

As I mentioned in the December 1:1 card swap thread, I just got out of the hospital. My post card will go out as soon as I can manage it. Fortunately, with my broken ankle, I can sit and stamp to my heart's content as long as my leg is supported.

Glad you liked it! I hope it make you smile and forget your pain when you look at it. I've added a pic to my gallery if anyone wants to see it.

Sorry to hear you have been in the hospital. Take care of yourself and don't over do it this week during the holidays.
