XrayAmy 06-14-2007, 12:29 PM I think you can mix them with something like mineral oil to make a paint (like radiant pearls). I may be wrong about the mineral oil though...I can't remember what people use. Inky Whiskers 06-14-2007, 04:07 PM I've read about mixing mica powders with gum arabic (available at art supply stores) & water to make a paint, but haven't tried it. It does say on the back of the Perfect Pearls packages that the gum arabic is already in their powders, so just add a bit of powder to water in a paint tray to make paint, but I haven't tried that yet either. I don't know if other brands of mica powder come with the binder already mixed in, so if the package doesn't say it does, it probably doesn't. I do know you can mix a bit of powder with Lumiere' white pearlescent paint to get a shimmery Radient Pearls like paint & other white paints may work too. This is one of those experiment & have fun moments! :D XrayAmy 06-14-2007, 04:38 PM Thanks Jenna...I knew someone would know more about it than me! Inky Whiskers 06-14-2007, 06:08 PM You are most welcome! #8) Shari Z 06-15-2007, 09:51 AM Perfect pearls (with gum arabic) has some nice online videos to show you some techniques. http://www.juliaandrus.com/videos Shari piecesandpom 06-18-2007, 10:58 AM Lindy's Stamp Gang, www.lindystampgang.com, also has mica powders and cards in their gallery to show various techniques. Becky P 06-19-2007, 10:15 AM I've mixed Pearl-Ex with a travel sized pump hair spray for a beautiful spray. The hair spray acts as the binder. alsmouse 06-19-2007, 08:36 PM Becky, Doesn't the nozzle clog? How do you keep it from doing that? |
