What's the best paper for copic markers? I am just getting started in this area. Usually I like to watercolor, but the paper I use is clearly too absorbent for copics. what BRAND paper should I get?

Thanks for the suggestions

Flourishes has paper, too! If you check out their designer blogs the art with copics looks terrific.

I'm currently using Neenah Solar Crest 80 lb. white and that works pretty well, too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went and bought some of the Neenah paper (80lb solar white) and we'll see how that goes. It is much smoother than what I usually use. (Of course I am usually watercoloring, so I need the texture).

My preference for copics is Winsor & Newton Bristol Board, extra smooth surface. I find it a dream to work with.
I would love to try all the others mentioned, but it's not easy to source them in the U.K. In fact I feel sure we don't have them here at all!

Hi Holley,

Our Flourishes Classic White and Ivory cardstock was selected specifically to be used with copics. Here is a link - I hope you will try it out!

I love the neenah solar crest paper. One of the things Marrianne (ilikemarkers) told us when I took her class was to not use a coated paper as it would change the brush on the copics.

Stampin' Up Whisper White can be too slick for Copics. I like the Georgia Pacific white cardstock.... from Walmart. Works well and is affordable.

The neenah paper is a two-fer. It works very well with Prismacolor pencils, too!

I like this as well. Not as intimidating to me.. lol. Great all around drawing paper too.
