Twelve Days of Christmas Challenge

Just to keep things in perspective, here is the countdown to Christmas (http://christmas.whipnet.net/kids/timeleft.html). I’m just trying to get ahead of the rush!

To partake in this challenge, please choose one number below for which card you will make. The number is association with the description is what you will use to make your card.

(Keep in mind, that you are responsible for helping to keep this challenge work like clockwork. So, please, less is more!)

10. Ten lords a-leaping
11. Eleven pipers piping
12. Twelve drummers drumming ~ KansasRose

Once you have chosen your number, enter a post here with that info and I will update the list accordingly. Make sure to check back often if you feel you can take on another number.

The trick here is going to be that each number is done in order when you post your card here on this thread. #4 can’t be posted before #3 or #10 can’t be posted before #9. You can have your card make ahead of time but please do not post it until it is time and in the right order.

Postcards, greeting cards, ATCs, inchies, etc. are all welcome to join! Come one, come all!

If time permits, we may have another round. The goal is to finish by November 30th, 2009 but have three rounds. Christmas will be here before you know it! Stay tuned…

I'm confused about what you mean by rounds, Roberta. As it stands now, you'll need 12 different cards. Are you planning on another set of 12 as a second round?

I think she means that this will go in rounds. When the first round is finished, there will be a 2nd and third round if time permits.

Not sure if when you sign up you would be resposible for more than one round...

But I am signing up...:)

Just gotta choose my day....

Just to cover one more aspect of this challenge:

If we do go a second or subsequent round, the 'slate' will be wiped clean and you will be able to choose the same number, a different number or just opt out all together.

This all reminds me of a thing that a local gospel group used to do...they would get 12 people out of the audience to sing 12 days in "rounds" style...and it was always hilarious!!!

I'll be happy to take 1 or 2 more since I have already stamped a bunch of different ones to put together for the 1st day. I'm working on my Oct. cards now, so it won't be a problem. I'll wait a few more days to pick, so it will give others a chance to pick the ones they want first.

Nope, this is not a swap. This is a challenge. So, once you are due to make your card (we want to keep in order, please and thank you), you will make your card and post it on this site. That's it. Easy as pie!

It doesn't matter if you have the stamps to match what you are doing or not. The point is to let your creativity do its thing and see what happens. That's what this is all about. Have fun and be yourself!

Just some ideas: you could use pipe cleaners for 11 pipers piping, stamp a turtle and put wings on it for the turtle dove. Or, if you have a dove, stamp it and color it in with different shades of green.

Sorry to hear that....I posted a "All Occasion Swap" and it has not had alot of interest either, where all my other swaps on other sites are going well. It just doesnt seem to be alot of activity going on.... Thanks for your attempt, I did make mine!

i am tring to understand the swap ..but cant. on like, the 2 turtle doves, does this mean the stamper will be stamping a card with the image of 2 turtle doves on it??and so on...12 dancing ladies would be a dancing lady stamped 12 times on one card...?i am still learning this whole swap thing....please be gentle with me...love you all..inkkyjo

Have you read the thread in the 'Questions & Suggestions' section on 'Placing Images in Messages'?

I know there's another thread here somewhere on how to upload photos to posts, but I can't remember where it is, so you'll have to search for it.

Also, posting your projects to your member gallery & then linking it to a post here works too. :D

I have decided to post the link to go to my web album to view the postcard that I made for this challenge. I handstamped a postcard and then used watercolor pencils and some glitter glue. Sorry for the inconvenience.
