I posted some Rubber Stamp Tapestry and embossing powder
cards but the embossing really didn't come out as fine as I would
have liked.

I added some 'flowers' to a Stampscapes meadow scene, for
example, but the pigment ink is fading to some extent. But if
I had embossed them, they would still pop.

What embossing powder do folks use?

I like to use "ultra fine embossing powder". It really fills in all the little detailed stamps well. I'm sure someone can post a source for you...I just pick it up at various booths at shows.

I have a variety of brands. I love some of the PSX powders that I have but they aren't around anymore so will be shopping myself for comparable colors soon. I have also picked up some of the Judi-kins powders at conventions along with several other companies. I will say I am not as impressed with some of the iridescent or glitter powders as I though I would be when I bought them.

Sometimes doing a second layer or two of powder will help smooth out your images. Just shake more powder onto the image while it is still warm and then heat again. You do not need more ink in between layers, that could actually ruin it.

I've also noticed that embossed images just don't look the same online, that dimensional effect gets lost. Kinda experiencing that one myself right now with some examples I did for another thread. :(

We sell this powder on our website and at stamp conventions. We call it Detail Embossing Powder. Please check our website catalog for colors and sizes. Once you use the ultra-fine powder you won't want to use the "regular" powder for anything. ;)

I saw some detail embossing powder at one of the shows and it really worked very well. It really made a difference. I just bought some at the Springfield show but have not tried it yet.
