Update (as of 3/11/09)
Just Cards Magazine now has an ATC section (woohoo!) in the magazine starting in the current Vol. 13, Spring 2009 issue!
Deadline for the Vol. 14 is March 20.
Deadline for Vol 15 is June 26.
Good luck to all!

A few months ago Just Cards stamp magazine had a "call" for ATCs. I think they were hoping to add a section to the magazine for ATCs or perhaps if they got enough maybe they'd do an issue devoted to ATCs. Any way I don't think they received enough to do anything. I recently contacted them and they are still interested in received ATCs. Interested? Be sure to explain how you made the item and give stamp credits. If you add return postage, they will return your art. Here is the address:

Did they indicate a theme they would prefer, or just send in what you like?

No theme specified, but no nudes.

Deb,

Thanks for sharing this with us. I think I'll submit something. Is there a deadline? I looked on their page but couldn't find one.

Thanks
Jeanette

They had a deadline that has passed, but I don't think they received enough to do anything with at that time and the editor said they are continuing to accept them. The next deadline for Just Cards is March 20.

Wow, that's surprising that they didn't get enough submissions. I missed that one myself somehow. I love making ATCs. Think I'll whip up a few to send in. Thanks for the info.

I use a lot of Bombshell Stamps - do you think pin-ups would fall under the category of nudes or not?

Personally, I wouldn't think so but I bet my Nana would disagree with me. *grin*

Boy, I don't know how to answer that. Send it, along with some others, and let them decide. Remember if you include return postage, they'll return your items. Good luck.

This is great. ATC's are so much fun to make and so quick! I will have to definately submit some. Are we supposed to send the actual card or just an attachment to an email? Maybe I will check out their site.

Deb thanks for getting all of us this information. I don't think I can submit anything for 3/20 but for sure in June.

I am new to this group, but not new to stamping. What defines an ATC-dimensions? flatcard?theme? Sounds interesting to me.

ATCs are 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches, little works of art, Susan. Take a look at some fine examples in the ATC gallery here.

As far as Just Cards is concerned -- they didn't feature ATCs in the last issue. I hope, but don't know!, that maybe they might consider a special issue for ATCs. I have the name picked out for them (LOL) -- Just ATCs. It goes with all the other magazines (Just Weddings, Just Holidays, ... Just ATCs). Anyway, I am still sending ATCs to Just Cards, and hopefully others are too.

Theme or flat depends on who you're trading with. In a lot of organized swaps, the host will ask that they are flat. Most people prefer that they be fairly flat anyway as most of us store them in baseball card sleeves.

Theme...I make all kinds of atc's...mostly humorous, unless I join a swap that has a particular theme. I have a lot of people I swap atc's with and sometimes make something special for them bases on their interests.
