Realistic soft drink bottle stamping

I have a soft drink bottle stamp that I got last year and I wanted to pass along how I used it recently.

To give it a more realistic look like the old fashioned bottled drink, I embossed it on vellum with light green pigment ink and clear embossing powders. I then cut it out and colored the back side with red and brown markers before gluing it to my card. The marker helps hides the glue too!

Looks very real. I would post an example but since the stamp is of an actual brand name, I thought I better not. Hopefully you get the idea though.

update: Pictures below, also use a heavier duty velum and use 2 coats of EP powder.

Are you sure we won't be violating any copy right laws here. This is an internationally know company, whom I've always heard was very protective. That why I bought the stamp, I was shocked they OK'd it in the first place. :shock:

I would love to show off the technique with this stamp but I could do something similar with my jar stamp (the one I used with the fairies) instead. It would be close enough to get a general idea anyway.

I just don't want to get us in trouble when this place is just starting to get busy.

I am pretty sure I know (and have) the stamp you are talking about and I was stunned silly when I first saw it because I have seen how very protective this company can be.

Hey Elli, Glad to know I wasn't the only victim of the "purchase by shock and dumbfounded" syndrome :)) .

PS Haven't forgotten the example but just haven't had time. Can't stamp late at nite right next to my son's room :( and we have been on the go since he is now out of school.

Unfortunately you cannot get the full effect from my scans. The colors are off a bit and the dimension achieved with the embossing powder doesnt show up.

I did learn a couple of additional things while making these. First use a heavier duty velum and do 2 coats of the clear powder.
