HI ALL,
The Feburary tag sign-up is here, so please let me know if I missed you on the list. It already looks like we have a lot of players and always love having new players join us. This is a very fun swap and a great way to try color combos that may not be part of your usual choices.

The BIG NEW thing this year, will be to add one other color of your choice to the mix. Since we have always considered black & white to be givens as part of the tags this means you will be picking something other than them to be used.

So using January’s colors as an example; I would use black, white, gray & “puce” on my tags. “Puce” would be my additional color choice. (puce would not be my color choice in real life since it is a icky color but I’m using it as an example color only) If you have any questions on this process, please ask. No question is ever stupid, only the un-asked question is stupid.
The other tag guidelines will remain the same.

[At this time, I will still be hosting this swap, until my family needs me more. When that time rolls around, I have asked Inky Whiskers to take over and she as agreed. When that time arrives, I will send each of you a PM advising you of the change. I don't want your tags to be sent to the wrong location so will let you know as soon a possible as to the hosting change. Thank you for understanding and feel free to contact me if you have any concerns.
A big Thank You to Inky Whiskers for assisting me in keeping the fun of the TCC tags going. ~C8>]

2 requests:
1) if you are having trouble making the deadline please PM me ahead of time to let me know. I certainly understand that life gets in the way sometimes, I just want to stay informed of whats going on and what to expect.

2) This thread is for the signing up for and discussion of the Color Challenge Tags only. Please help me keep this thread on topic so those that are participating can stay informed and up to date about the swap.

Tag Guidelines:
The tag size is 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" with the one end having the corners cut off at the .5" mark on the 90 degree point, a 1/4" hole punched in middle of cut end
Please, as long as we leave the tag holes undecorated with ribbons & stuff, they will be easy to mail back & forth.
As for cutting of the corners & making the hole so all our tags more or less match...I have a tip for the others: make a template for cutting the corners & punching the hole. For those who need it, if you PM me (alsmouse), I will send out a template & my address.
Also please type up a supply & techniques list, shrink it to a size that will easily fit the back of the tag fronts, copy the list to fill the sheet, cut the lists apart then stick them to the back.(Don't forget your name).
Once you have completed your color combination, just mail the required number of tags in either a padded 4" x 7" envie or a 6" x 9" envie. Plus an approprite sized envie SASE inside or a return address tag and enough postage to get it back to you, I'll make sure that we each get one tag of each others work. Don't forget to keep one for your self.

"Monkey Keeper asked: Is there a color chart we can refer to for some of the colors? Or are the color names specific so a brand of inkpad or marker? Or do we just make our best estimate of what a color is supposed to be?"

"Inky Whiskers replied-A perfectly reasonable question, but nope, we don't use a color chart or a specific brand of anything. This swap is all about stretching our creative muscles by using colors & combinations we might not normally choose to work with. Other than the required size of the tag & corner/hole specifics, you can do whatever comes to your muse & use whatever supplies you have or want to buy. (like any of us need more than the slightest of nudges to head for the LSS )

Some of us go with the first thing that comes to mind when we learn what the month's colors are & others wander around for a few days/weeks thinking about the colors & waiting for inspiration to strike. If you have to use at least one brain cell to come up with an idea for this, then you're doing it right. The point is to do something different, not go on stamping autopilot. This is also a great opportunity to experiment with new techniques & play with new or not often used stamps, inks, embellishments & papers. You should get 8 tags from one sheet of 8.5x11 card stock and so far, 2 sheets of card stock has been enough (w/left overs) to do each month's set of tags. Also, take notes as you go of what you use for stamps (w/company name), inks, papers & embellishments so you remember everything when you type up the supply list for the back of your tags. If you have room, include basic info about the technique. Many of us include this info with better directions when we upload to our galleries as well.
If you're really suck trying to visualize a particular color, try Googling it to see what others in the art world have come up with for that color. This is a very subjective process & there really aren't any 'wrong' answers. So go have some fun!!!"

Now go create something wonderful ~C8>

My sage green is really sick. I went to the spice cupboard and well can I say my spices must be ancient. So if my sage green is more brown pitty my family should I choose to cook with that particular dried herb! Truly there was no sage green to be found anywhere and I went to 5 different places...

Such a creative group. If any of you are on the fence about playing you might just want to seriously get brave and reconsider. The tags are awesome each and every one! I love the surprise color that is added too.

YIKES...mine won't go postal till Tuesday or Wednesday at the ultimate latest! Had a bad arthritis day today...stayed in bed till 3:30!!! Finally got up and did some things here, then had to go out to Walmart and Big Lots...because Big Lots had a 20% off coupon today only...and I had to get ONE thing at Walmart for another swap...

So very sorry. I will post when they go postal for sure!

I overdid it this weekend...plus it's cold weather here...27 degrees as I type this...and I have to stop for gas in the morning...before work...sigh....

Take care all!

Hi Maralee!

WAIT!!! Don't lick that envie! I will be filling in for Ms. Mouse starting in March, so please don't send your March tags to her, they need to be sent to me. (How did you know how many to make for next month?)

Ms Mouse started a new thread for March & listed the next several month's colors there with the list of who signed up already to do March.

There's always room for more stampers to join the fun! :D

Too late! Mine are all gone...airborne to alsmouse....sorry, I didn't know there was a change. I knew how many to make by counting all the names that signed up and adding 2. :)
Boy! The one time I am not only caught up, but early, ya'll change things on me.

Ms. Mouse & I will make sure your tags get where they need to go, Maralee. Tho' you may have to make more tags for March if more people sign up. (Those would get mailed to me.)

Ms. Mouse is having some family things going on (see 'need white light' in the Group Therapy section) & doesn't want her swaps getting delayed if she has to go out of town to deal with it, so she asked me to take this swap & SpideyCindy to take the monthly card swap for a few months until things with her family are taken care of. We're happy to help! :D

That said, is there anybody else out there in RSC land that wants to join the hottest swap going? If so, just hop on over to the March - June Tag swap thread & post letting us know which months you'd like to do. If you've checked the gallery, you know how awesome these tags are! You know you want to join so you can have your own set each month to drool over!!! :D

Please feel free to post or pm your questions to me while Ms. Mouse is otherwise occupied. She trained me up good! :D

i am proud to say that these Feb. tags ARE finished...except for the recipe that goes on the back...

I have had a bad arthritis flare up (stayed home from work today)...and just have not felt like finishing these as I had planned. I was going to finish them tonite and get them out the door tomorrow, but my dear bf just got a new computer...WITH webcam...and he lives in Indiana and I am in NC...and for the first time in over a YEAR I got to lay eyes on him...wooHOO...

Needless to say, stamping and creating went out the window after that...

I am so very sorry...but seeing him was like Valentines and Christmas and every other holiday rolled into one!

Please forgive me. I hope to get the March ones done MUCH sooner!

Take care all!

These will go postal on Thursday as I have to zzz for work, as it is 11 pm and I have to BE at work at 5:30 a.m.!

Thanks!

Went to the PO to pick up stopped mail & left there with 2 FULL tote bags of envies. It was so much fun opening all the envies & seeing what each of you created. These are worthy of more than a LFS alert but I can't say that the idea of having the rest of my clothing fly off is very appealing. (just be happy you don't have to look in my mirror.) However, they are worthy of some major expression of amazement. (maybe I will have my hair stand on end :lol:) YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
So I received the following envies: darci simmons, marie, jeanette, childsp, piecesandpom, suesun. I can't wait to see the rest of your creations.

Please remember that for the next 2 months you will be sending your envies to Inky Whiskers. She has been well trained in how to host the TCC tag swaps until I can handle them again. ~C8>

My tags were all ready to go the mailbox this morning. :( I'm not having a good day, so I asked DH if he could do me one tiny little favor & take the envie out to the mailbox when he left for lunch. We're not talking a major distance out of his way here, just the slightest of detours. He 'forgot'!!! He also forgot to take the halogen bulb that needs replacing with him. (He's the one grumbling about sitting in the 'dark' when watching tv 'cause of the burned out lamp in the corner. The other light in that room isn't 'right' for his highness's viewing confort.) So my Feb tags are done, but not mailed yet. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. Sorry!

Mine are finally crawling to the PO today. I had printer issues whereby my printer ink decided to dive on me. It ended up being a nice greyish lavender color instead of the crisp black I had planned...so you may need bifocals to read the recipes on the back...LOL.

Sorry for the delay...this plus an arthritis flare up = fiasco! But the tags at least are presentable...lol.

Take care all!

Actually it was tie between both of you. The mail from overseas is slow & j3 had a medical setback so the arrivial of te tags was a tie.

This batch of tags kept me busy for two nights sorting, bagging & tagging. So the tags have left the building. I suggest removing your sox before opening the envies & you might want to remove any small fuzzies from the room too since there is still a decent chance of another article of clothing flying off in amazement. These tags are super. Sorry, you will have to wait to receive them. Tucker found a really neat tuck for you this time, I hope you enjoy it as much as he enjoyed picking it out.
