Actually I like the hospice theme as I was a hospice nurse. Justa thought but will go with majority rules.

Faux postage images will of course work for this, but so would real stamps that are used (just carefully peel them off the envie & attach to your card with new adhesive) or are so old the postage amount is wrong, but not so old that they're valuable collectables. Tongue in cheek one could also play with rubber stamp collecting & still fit this theme. Just my 2 cents & the voting is still open if others have ideas they'd rather do. :D

Jenna, I like your 2 or 3 cents very much:laugh:. You can throw it in any ole time! Thank you for the useful and helpful advice. My mind is just not working well these days, too tired from being ill, but then my mind doesn't always work well, what's a girl to do but rely on her friends:confusion:

Hello - AudreyRose your card left Seattle on Thursday... You talk about the mail being slow coming out of Mexico let's see how fast it is getting there. On one of my trips to Europe I had mailed a post card to my mother-in-law. I mailed it at the beginning of our trip - the trip was two weeks and she didn't receive it until after I'd been back home three weeks... so about 5 weeks to come from Brussels to Bosie, Idaho...

Hi Linda,
I expect to receive it in about 3 weeks, but it may be longer with Christmas mail starting to come in. I'll let you know when it arrives!
Thank you so much, I am looking forward to receiving it!
Blessings,
Audrey

My card went postal this am...I enjoyed the challenge but it took the better part of my Sunday to settle it down and make the final decisions...I had two ideas running at the same time between inks drying and life...hehehe.
My father was a stamp collector and I have great memories of him working on his own passion. I wished I had some of the mounting tags he had and protection sleeves to use in the project but alas he is passed on and I have no idea if mom still has some of his supplies...I will have to ask next time I visit her.
What a wide open range of ideas ran in my head.
Thanks for putting those options up for us Ms Mouse!

PS I created a Special RSC Postage Stamp! Too much fun...I wonder if the postal service...:)) Anyway Art imitates life!

Wow! Ms. Spidey, it's so interesting reading about your dad. It brought me back to (far too many year's ago) when I became a philatelist and still have my collection of First Day Covers and Albumns of swapped and collected stamps. As I was never very good at Geography at school, this hobby certainly broadened my horizons and opened up some very treasured friendships worldwide, which still continue to this day! I have also brought many of my First Day Covers back to life with the life saving scanner and used them as collage backing papers for many a commissioned card. I hope you may still discover your dad's collection and include it on your very own artistic journey. I feel sure he would be so proud of you for doing that. Thank you so much for sharing this piece of nostalgia of your dad, I so wish I had known him.

My dad started an album for me as well of first day covers. I hope my mom still has it. I did not appreciate it at the time and he took it back for safekeeping. I did not keep it up. He has quite a collection and investment. I guess I do as well in my rubber stamps...:o
This card brought back lots of memories for me and happy ones at that. I have great happy memories of observing the hours he spent at his stamp desk putting care and love into his stamp collection.
I had a roomate in college that made a collage of wonderful stamps she collected being an army brat the collection of stamps were really beautful!

Let me know that you have found his collection safely. Imagine the time you can then spend with your dad! Then bringing it all back to life and keeping it going with your artistic passion! And if you ever find the time? You can lovingly prepare his hobby and your artistic creations in scrap-books to be handed down throughout your family. What a Legacy that would be.

For family and work reasons, I did not get our Saturday mail nor have I been at the computer for several days so I did not post anything about Spidey's card which apparently arrived on Saturday. I sent Spidey a private message but I most certainly want to let the rest of you know how beautiful her card is. She did a fantastic job in creating a special edition block of stamps in "Tuscan fall" colors of red, olive, plum, peach, and coral, featuring what I believe is a plum (the fruit) painted with Twinkling H2Os or something similar. The stamps bear the RSC initials which I recognized immediately, of course. But what I loved most was a typed vignette about her father and how she chose to honor him in creating this piece. That was extremely special and I see now that she has shared that with those of us on the board as well. It brought back memories of my own dad.

Inky I received your beautiful card today. It may have arrived earlier but my dh had not hit the po in some time. I love it! It is the perfect card about Inky and her stamp collection that has grown and grown. I am following behind but at a much lower count...lol I am sure she will post it. The front of the card has a wonder lady that happens to be a Stampin up distributer in bunny slippers with all her goodies in tow. Inky used a black envy and border with her stamp front that is wonderful. I never use black envies and Jenna showed me how much fun it is!
I'm gonna treasure this card and put it in a safe special place that is what passionate stamp loving/collecting folks do!:lovie:

This is going to sound really sad, but I can't remember if I stamped on SU! Glossy White cs or Whisper White cs? I know I colored with regular SU! markers mostly from the Bold Brights color family. Both cardstocks have a surface that resists the ink just long enough to get good coverage w/o those pesky overlap lines being too much of a bother. The difference being that one is glossy & the other is a super smooth matte finish. :confusion:

Nah! He gets fussier about the quality of his food every year & has been learning more & more about how to cook food the way he likes it. Except for a few types of food that are too much of a pain to make at home (dim sum, sushi & pho) he generally cooks better than what we can get at any restaurant. Going out to eat is more of a break for him from cooking & dishes than a chance to eat really good food. Yep! I'm spoiled! :D
