View Full Version : Stamped images on a candle Fliss 07-24-2008, 12:48 PM Sorry in advance if this has already been posted. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/stampedcandles.php Marie 07-24-2008, 01:56 PM Thanks Fliss ~ those are very good instructions. I have been wanting to try the candles. cmcveigh 07-24-2008, 02:57 PM Does this technique only work with white candles?? piecesandpom 07-24-2008, 04:15 PM The wax paper just aids in pulling the color of the candle through the white tissue paper. . .my OnyxXpressions candles have been on white, light blue and red. I am not an expert at cutting out my stamped and colored images; I let the wax paper and the candle do that for me! cmcveigh 07-24-2008, 04:28 PM The wax paper just aids in pulling the color of the candle through the white tissue paper. So... the white tissue paper absorbs the candle-wax color, and ultimately disappears... how cool. Thanks!! BombshellStamps 07-24-2008, 04:40 PM Freakin' fantastic! I'm on my way to Big Lots for some cheap candles to play with... Shannon piecesandpom 07-24-2008, 07:31 PM When I did the tri-color brilliance ink on white tissue for the 'Asian Kittens' candle, I didn't know what was going to happen. Was my background brayer inking going to melt into the candle and disappear; was the chalk ink on the kittens going to disappear into the brilliance inked background and turn to mud? The wax paper actually returned a glittery background and set, brought forward, the chalk ink image beautifully. You can see the 'deckle' edge of the tissue paper 'cause I wanted a rice-papery, more natural edge to set off the stamped image but it is seamless into the light blue of the original candle, especially after buffing the candle with a nylon knee high to remove any excess wax from the wax paper that may have remained on the candle. |
