Here we are again siging up for the August and October months for inchies swap..

Rules are as Follow:

You make 10 inchies and send in a SASE to me address on file or pm me for it.

You can sign up to do 10 Square Inchies or Sign up to do 10 Round Inchies or if you wish you can sign up to do both the rounds and the squares.. the more the merrier..

Please post here for which month you want to sign up for and if doing Square or Round Inchies or both.. For August.I forgot to mention you MUST Have a stamped Image in them inchies.

Please Don't Forget to Sign your arts in the back.......Give yourself some credit for your works of art.

The OCTOBER Theme will be open theme: This mean you choose which ever stamps you want to play with for this month.
Now for September there is a Catch and its that we will be only doing a Explosion Fun fold Inchie... Using any stamps.

NOTE: To make a explosion fun fold Inchie you will need to cut your card stock
2" x 2"... Yes that is correct you will need 2 Inch Squares and when you fold when i give directions you will see it folds to 1 inch exactly.

Ladies All of you that signed up for the September Explosion Fold Inchies .... I'm chaning the Due Date On this Cause of the health issues i've not been able to send the templates So there fore The September Inchies will be Due NOVEMBER 15TH INstead...

I'm working on all the templates today so I get them in mail tomorrow along wioth the August Inchies due to you all....

If you want to join and give these a try and didn't get a sample from me please pm me your mailing address and i will send you a sample...

Those of you that did the 50 Inchies will be recieving a sample of the Explosion Fun fold so you can join in on the fun..

Don't forget to make one extra of each design you do so you'll have one for your self! I like to do 5 each of 2 designs to make up my 10, so I make 6 of each design & keep the prototype. Hmmm...I wonder how Wood Veneer Man's products would work for inchies. I'll have to experiment & find out! :D

Reason I did the inchie monthly swap hosting was because it was not established here so I took it as I saw everyones interest in it, now that the fever is on for inchies any one wishing to host them may go ahead and do so you...

There is a need to say sorry when someone makes you feel as if you aren't suppose to host on an open forum like this one. :( Hopefully, we can go on from here without any more confrontations. :)

Oh Ladies & Gents, I do hope we can all play nice together!!!

I think part of the 'mental challenge' some are having about having 2 of the same format swap in the same month is that we've rarely had the issue come up. Until a few month's ago we usually had one swap each month in several basic formats and the players were generally the same half dozen or so people with a few who drifted in & out as their time allowed. On the rare occassion when somebody would try to start a 2nd swap of a different theme, either the participation on both was so low that one or both got cancelled because the regulars would have to choose between them due to personal time restrictions OR everybody would sign up for one, but not the other. So we've stuck to one of each type per month.

This isn't a rule nor was it meant to be exclusionary, just practical, as there were only so many of us to play & we each only has so much time to play with each month.

That said, RSC now has over 2000 members & there's a much larger pool of swappees wanting to play every month. There's plenty of room for 2 or even 3 swaps in the same basic format (cards, ATCs, tags, inchies etc...) with different themes (Halloween, Fall, Christmas, Winter...) being offered. The forum swap rules (click the link below) are pretty common sense & basic and beyond that, how each member decides to set up their swap is up to them. If folks like the idea & have the time, they'll sign up for it.

None of the swaps listed here are meant to be competitive or exclusive! (Unless you're not a RSC member. Then you can't play with us, only watch us have fun until you do sign up. Then you can play too!) The more who play & the more ways we have to play, the more fun we ALL have & the more friends we make. We're all here looking for inspiration, instruction and socialization. If we wanted politics or teeth grinding hassles, we spend more time at work! I for one am having way mondo fun with all the swap options being offered. :D

Its been a few days i've not posted here but I got family health issues here about cancer and I've just been into that right now....

So please forgive me for tardiness...

Sinced I'm running behind /late here I will extend the september fun fold inchies at least an extra week or so for delivery to me to make fair...

I'm so sorry i'm so backed up but life happens...

I almost finished my Sept inchies on vacation! I just need one more backing piece & labels on the backs. :D

MonkeyKeeper: I Googled 'explosion cards' and none of them looked like Lillibets sample. Here's how I did mine based on her sample: (a bone folder or simular tool will help make your creases nice & sharp)

1) take on piece of copier paper cut into a 2"x2" square

2) fold in half to make a rectangle

3) unfold and fold the other 2 sides together to make a rectangle

4) open the 2nd fold, at this point you should have a cross of fold lines dividing your piece of paper into 4 equal sections

5) turn the piece of paper over and fold one corner over to meet the diagonally opposite corner

6) open the diagonal fold & turn the piece over

7) to make the piece fold up, have the paper with the diagonal crease in the 'mountain' fold position (the fold comes up towards you as opposed to 'valley' fold where the fold goes away from you) then fold the 2 squares without diagonal score lines towards each other like book pages with the diagonally scored squares folding in towards each other in the middle

The pivot point of this fold is the center point where all the score lines meet & act as a 'spine' when the piece is folded closed. The 2 diagonal fold lines should meet in the middle of the piece when you close it.

8) decorate the side of the paper that has the diagonal mountain fold lines (I like to do my stamping before I fold the paper, but you can wait until this point if you want to)

9) attach your stablizing back piece to the outside of one of the non-scored squares with a string or ribbon between the paper & the stablizer

10) attach your front piece on the other outside square

11) tie the ribbon on the side or front to hold the whole thing closed

I've uploaded scans of Lillibet's sample to my gallery so those who haven't received theirs yet can see what to do. :D

Ya'll ever seen the little folded elastic that is used on some men's shirt collars to hold the button at the neck closed? You can use those on your explosion cards, too, if it fits your theme.

Due date for those now will be Due Oct 30th,2008

I'm making this change cause I've not been able to mail out the templates to you all that asked for them...

I'm working on them today even if it kills me...
These are fun folds and we need to play with them and broaded our creativity...
So be on the look out for your July inchies and your august inchies due back and in there will be the templates....
I'll also be chainging the Due Dates for the Oct, Nov, DEC ones so check that post too...

Hi Ann, She said she sent them already I think on October 1 or 3..I'd have to look again to be sure of the date. They were suppose to be in the mail last we heard, so I think that is what everyone is concerned with at this point.

I do feel for her situation with her father and I pray he will be okay. She said he was doing better on one of the threads. I'm just saying if it was me, my first priority would be my father and I would have to let some of these other things go.

Hi Ann, I thought that was why I sent you a sample of the Explosion and Matchbook inchies because you needed these for Lillibet's swap. Man, I am confused! Why did you need those samples if not for her swap? :)

Booner, I was initially going to play but when Lillibet said her father was ill, I was under the belief that the swaps were going to be put on hold until things had settled. I still want to play but with Lillibet so preoccupied with family matters it doesn't seem to be getting past the first round of play. Maybe, (with Lillibet"s agreement) if someone would like to temporarily hostess so that the swaps can continue and Lillibet can devote her full attention to her family at this time? Would someone else consider temporarily hosting untill Lillibet can join us full time again?? I, myself, am already hosting 2 swaps so have my plate full.
Lillibet, If this sounds like a good suggestion to you & when your life settles back to normal then you take back hosting the inchies, let us know. The players all want the best for you and your family and if this is a help to you, please let us know if this is ok.

Hey folks, I was just catching up on what's going on as my life and time scheduele have been crazy for a bit here. I was talking with inky on one of our walks and thinking I may need to re think some of what I'm doing. My thoughts and prayers are with lillibet and her family. We are dealing with some health issues with my mom and waiting test results, I am having surgery in Nov. and then a couple of things going on with my daughter....Just an idea here and I really don't want to hurt ANY feelings as I love this group and people here....but maybe if temorarily hosting a couple of lillibets fun inchie swaps doesn't work right now and if lillbet agrees we could just postpone them till after the first of the year, or when things settle down for her...just a thought hope I haven't stepped on any toes

Wow I got tears in my eyes right now.... I just got on here to see if every one got their inchies and I see all this caring and loving for me and my family..

thank you all for your kind words and your support and prayers...

I still want the swaps to go on as schedule for November and December and January..
So please ladies lets keep these swaps going... Its my only bit of sanity right now..

Please grab a cup of coffee or hot cocoa or soda let me Update you all on what has happened in my life since i mailed out the swaps...

My dad started his radiation on Monday Columbus Day he has to go every day of the week except saturday and sunday for the next 4 to 6 weeks. Imagine he takes two buses to go and 2 to come back. I thank God that he has not seem to have side effects yet. There will be a doctor checking him out every thursday to see how things are going.

So up to now things seem to be getting better with dad.

Now hear what has happened in the last few weeks right here home.

My hubby has been complaining of pains on joints and bones and lower back but stubbon as he is he didn't want to go to doctors. So finally amist all with my dad i make him a apt three weeks ago and went to see doc. He was given pain meds and so he took them and nothing happened. Now week and 1/2 ago he gets up in the morning and cant hold his urine so urinates on himslef three time in 2 hoiurs time. He tells me call doc and make apt. I did and in the mean time being diabetic he never told me his sugar level was over 300
So we go to docts and he gets urine test which came back negative and was sent for xrays cause doc thought it was a nerve pressing some where etc.

that was last week Thursday .. Well by last week friday hubby was like a mummy sitting down falling asleep and just waking when i woke him up to eat etc... It never dawned on me it was his sugar cause its always under controll.

Well by this last sunday when he got up from bed and went to bathroom and came back and sat on the sofa and said I just want to die.... Can you ladies imagine my face etc.
I said that is it you are going to the walk in clinic... So off we went Sunday and sure enough they had blood work done and all was well except that his sugar was out of control.... So was sent back home and I then said honey i got to give ya back the pill the doctor said to take away at lunch time.. And ladies with in one hour he was all perked up and about just like he always is.. A total transformation..
He still going to see the doctor this coming Monday cause some wheres his pills got to get re routed or changed some wheres .... but at least now i know what is going on and I'm on top of things with him...

And well as for me my allegies have been killing me really bad so been taking the allergies meds and then that has triggered my Asthma to high extends so dealing with that....

Lord until when.... I just hanging in there...
So you see ladies I really need to keep these swaps going til the end. I will take a big break in january 09 after the January inchies are done and sent..
I dont want to disappoint any of you and i'm so sorry its been so long for you to get your inchies back....

Please continue to keep me in your prayers and if any one need templates please pm me your addresses again...

I think i forgot to enclose the explosion inchies template in the envies if so let me know.

Well dear ladies your tea or cocoa or coffee or soda should have been finished by now so I best cut this saga of my life short...
