Here is where you sign up to join the July 2008
INCHIES Swap:
Inchies MUST have a Stamped Image on it......

DUE DATE IN MY HANDS IS JULY 31,2008

This Swap consists of 10/10 Inchies ....

There will be 2 themes just incase some of you dont got a particular theme stamps....

Theme #1 Will be PATRIOTIC

Theme #2 Will be ANYTHING PERTAINING TO CELEBRATIONS[/COLOR]

I've decided that since we got time those that want to do round 1 inch inchies can sign up for them too... also in the same themes. I'll be doing both.
so those of you that want to sign up for the round ones post so i sign you up..

You Must Send them In a Baggie to protect them and you MUST send SASE . Please remember to use some sort of heavy card stock or chioboard or even cereal box cardboard for the backing to make them stiff..

I know that I will be posting some very interesting inchies like we will be doing accordian fold inchies, and match book inchies, and explosion Inchies and and what other templates we can cut down to the size of a inchie we will be doing ... I will show the how to's when that time comes so dont you worry none... we got time. If any of you ladies do particular card folds that can be done in inchie size please let me know so we can work them too..

Maybe this is a dumb question but......what is an Inchie????? LOL I've been stamping for 15 or so years but have been out of the loop for about 5 so I'm a little behind on some of the terminology these days.

There are very few questions that the members of RSC might possibly consider dumb & yours isn't one of them. :lol:

An inchie is a one inch square piece of stamped art made to be swapped. If you go to the beginning of the 50 inchies swap thread there are several links to blogs etc showing what some folks are doing with their inchies. :D

I just got a brain storm and well Starting in September I will host inchies in the square and in the rounds..

So ladies and gents you all better buy a 1 Inchie round punch cause this is going to be loads of fun...

Round inchies should fit in the same 30 per pocket pages the square inchies fit in as they're the same diameter, just round. :D

I have a 1" circle punch, but I don't think it will punch the chip/mat board stuff that I used for my square ones. Can our circle ones be a little flimsier, like regular cardstock? Or is there a circle punch someone can recommend that does better with heavier stuff?

I have both 1" shapes made by EK Success and have punched thin card board from the back of a cheap notebook I had xyron'd as the 'support' layer for my inches. This way the art part could be done on any paper and still have body and I didn't have to use glue to put the art on the support.

Try some really thin recycled card board or med-thick card stock (75-80 lb) in your punch to see how it does. Inchies don't need to have the density of pogs (heavy chip board), just be stiff enough to not get trashed in transit or by handling. Using 2 layers of med-card stock (or thin card board behind card stock) will do this & be easier to punch than one thick layer.

I now have inchies parading thru' my head! That's ok as there's lot of room in there for them to play. :D

You can try and punch a cereal box cardboard with the round inchie punch for the backing that would be good and stiff enough...

I have the Whale of a punch 1" square punch I will see if i find a 1" round one..

I did buy a 1" round punch at the dollar store they are from All Night Media I'm going to try it tonight on regular card stock maybe i'll try it on the cereal box too if i break it ohhhh well I'll just go buy another one for just card stock,

I'm glad you got my inchies. I know I was one of the last to send them in. I found the inchies pages at a coin/stamp store. They are called Hagner Stock sheets and were made to hold postage stamps. They were around $1.50 a sheet. Stampers always find other uses for items other than their original use. :laugh:

Thanks for joining both the square and the rounds...

As for the themes well its really patriotic or celebrations of any kind but if you do celebrations then they should be done in RED WHITE and BLUE...

The reason i did that is cause not every one has patriotic stamps....
This ways they can still participate...

I only ask that the round inchies and the square inchies don't be exactly the same if possible meaning the same stamps .....

get it??? I can be confussing at times..:D :confusion:

Things have been a bit wacko here I tell ya i can't wait til winter so things will calm down around here....

Any ways I will double cehck on august inchie theme I beleive its Summer, but i will double check to make sure...

Now those of you that sign up for the 50 inchies you will be receiving a special fun fold inchie from me .... That fun fold will be the way the inchies are to be done for September and it will be open theme....
So be on the look out...

Those of you that didn't participate in the 50 inchies swap I will post photo of that special fun fold inchie and how too's after all the ladies receive their 50 inchies so not to spoil the fun...

And I did the best I could considering my finger situation (cut the tip of it off with the Pampered Chef mandolin slicer). Anyway, I had a little help with these. Mel, there's no such thing as a 'bad' swap project around here! Granted, there are the occassional ones that the maker wished had turned out better, but no body is going to say boo if your inchies aren't made to the standard you wish they were. As long as you had fun making them (inspite of your owie :( ) we'll have fun looking at them & showing them off to our local friends. :D

Yes, I had fun making them....especially since one of my sons was so eager to help. He did a great job helping too. My problem is that I'm a perfectionist and if everything isn't just so I get uptight. LOL

I had a paper bag card swap to do also and thankfully I cut my thumb AFTER that was done because there was no way my son would have been able to help me with that one. LOL

Lillibet, I do hope you get them today or tomorrow. I sent them first class and on my way home from the post office I remembered that I was going to send them to you priority mail. Sorry about that.

I too can go thru' several prototypes to get the 'right' look & always have a few not good enoughs that pile up awaiting salvage. It's perfectly OK to be a bit fussy when it comes to your art! Nothing is worse than a grumpy muse!!! :eyeroll: I'm happy to hear that your DS was willing to play with you & help with the bits that needed help! Mine only comes to me on the rare occassions that he really needs help & then it's usually just to borrow mom's craft toys or ask how he can do it himself. :lol:

Most of us send our swaps w/SASE by regular snail mail unless they're late & it helps to add a lil more postage than you think you'll need to your SASE as the inchies (ATCs & tags too) are often not the same weight as the ones you send in. :D

Yes, I have been in a tizzy many times over the years. LOL I CANNOT do anything collage at all. I love the look, when others do it. But cannot bring myself to do anything that isn't just neat and balanced, etc. LOL Drives my husband insane.

My 2 little ones LOVE to stamp with me. My older 2 used to love to stamp but have outgrown it. One thinks he's too old for anything involving family (he's almost 18) and the other one is nothing but testosterone (he's my little Young Marine at 16).

I'm late mailing these out to you all cause I got my dad who had surgery last week for cancer inside the upper part of his mouth and well also they did a bipsy of his throat and they have found cancer there too so we dont know what will be done for that, this is from all his life smoking.... Not a good thing....

I don't understand, if everybody made their 50 why did you have to make more to send and Friday came and went many times. Had you sent them?

I know it's been frustrating for you to not be able to keep up on the swaps you so love doing & frustrating for folks on the other end to not always know what's going on with you. Whew so glad you got them and do enjoy them sweetie...

Yes these have been very stress ful months for me and dont look like the sun nor rainbow will be heading my ways any time soon...

My dad is having his radiations treatment but not eating so they might have to give him the feeding tube...
today off to the doctors with my sister and now she got bronchitus.

When will i get a break.... sometimes i just want to open the door and run aways and and hide.

I cant even enjoy the things i love the most crocheting and rubberstamping...
go figure...
well maybe like inky whiskers said maybe 2009 will be my peaceful year.
