Updated June Color Challange Swap

Attention All Lurkers, Your presence is requested to join us in the "Tag-o-licious" Color Challange Swap. The thought process of this swap is to push you to try new color combinations outside our color comfort zones. We all have that Fav color we just reach for when we make a card, we want you to learn to not go for that one but try new colors. It is a challange to to try the colors in a new way, to work beyond your usual range. So even if you don't join us in the tags swap (which you should since you get some really fantastic tags to give you color ideas), try it at home. So, come & join us, you'll really enjoy the challange to expand your color horizions. Please let us know if you will be playing in this month's swap. New players are welcome to join us.

As usual the tags will be due in the mail by the 20th of their respective months.

Attention: We are getting more tags (which in it self is super) than a regular legal size will be able to handle well. I'm going to request that we upgrade to a sturdier style of envie. There are 2 options, #1 a padded 4" x 7" to allow for any embelishments that we have added to the tags OR #2 using 7" x 10" manilla clasp envies. Both of these will hold the tags well and allow for them to arrive back to you in good shape. Please consider the new style request may need a bit more postage for shipping.

The tag size is 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" with the one end having the corners cut off at the .5" mark on the 90 degree point, a 1/4" hole punched in middle of cut end
Please, as long as we leave the tag holes undecorated with ribbons & stuff, they will be easy to mail back & forth.
As for cutting of the corners & making the hole so all our tags more or less match...I have a tip for the others: make a template for cutting the corners & punching the hole. For those who need it, if you PM me, I will send out a template. I realize the instructions are a bit lengthy. You will need a piece of light weight card stock that is 2.75"x2".
1) Along one of the long sides of the card stock, use a ruler to mark the .5" from the corner points on both corners.
2) Use the ruler to mark .5" from the corner points on each of the short sides on the same corners you marked already.
3) Cut from one side mark to the mark at a 90 degree angle from it. Repeat for the other corner. (make the cuts in one motion by using long bladed scissors, a cutter of some kind or a craft knife w/ruler)
4) Measure along the same 2.75" side you cut the corners from to find the middle (1 3/8" from both sides) and make a dot.
5) Make a hole by centering the 1/4" punch over the dot.
6) Place this template on the back side of one end of every tag & mark with a pencil where the corner cut lines & hole should be.
7) After marking all tags, proceed with cutting off the corners & punching the holes in all of your tags.
Now you can have the ends of your tags all look the same, every month, and so will everybody elses.
Also please type up a supply & techniques list, shrink it to a size that will easily fit the back of the tag fronts, copy the list to fill the sheet, cut the lists apart then stick them to the back. If your recipe is a long one, include the smaller ones in the envie along with your tags & I will make sure that everyone gets a copy & they can decide how they want to attach it to your tag. Once you have completed your color combination, just mail the required number of tags in a approprite sized envie plus an approprite sized envie SASE inside, I'll make sure that we each get one card of each others work. Don't forget to keep one for your self.

Oh! And don't forget to use 6x9 padded envies to protect our tags. I don't actually have new padded envies in that size, but a piece of bubble wrap or recycled envie padding inside a regular 6x9 envie works too. :D

I used the "little drop of water on the head" approach. :)) Every month I'd tell her what the colors were & show her the tags I'd get back. She'd ooo & aaah and say how fun doing a color challenge looked, but somehow, she'd manage to not sign up. This month I've brough it up pretty much every time we talked and that's almost every day. I'm glad she joined us! She does awesome stuff & the rest of the world needs to see it too. :D

Well, since everyone enjoyed having the tag info ahead of schedule, Tucker will be have to do his magic again. I'm waiting until his niece is picked up by Sis. He gets distracted when she is around. The bribe was a good try but I just haven't tried Tucker on the color choices since he still has his nose bent after me critter sitting for Sis. The Bird & Ruby were delivered back home Sunday & he is still jealous. Having a second rat in the house made him into a cuddly boy and he wants to be held a lot, which is not his nature. I'm going to see how he is tomorrow & see if he is in the mood to do the color selecting. I hope that having 3 months of tag colors will be enough, that is if he is in the mood to pick that many.
If you are trying another bribe to get the list earlier, Tucker is a big fan of maple frosted wheat cereal. I don't know if a bribe will sway the selection process but it will keep him happy & off Mommy's craft table. :))
I had plans to work on some of my other projects but have had a surprise fly-in of Parents so have to back burner the projects till I can work on them. I better get some ZZz so I can be social with them tomorrow instead of wanting to sleep. ~C8>
P.S. There is no reason to send him any of the mini wheats, I haven't told him but ther is a box in the pantry with his name on it.

Pooh (would you prefer to be called Pooh or Donna?), i am glad you had fun making your tags. I like this challenge because it is so friendly and easy going. Now-the next happy part, the anticipation of getting your envelope back :D I enjoy wondering about all the returning tags. Every now and then i get some good ideas for what i might do on upcoming tags by daydreaming about what the incoming tags might be.

It has been past the date that the last person said that they mailed their June tags & I have NOT received them. Each player gets one tardy due to family events since we all have life happen. I have waited past the time a Priority package was to be sent so will apologize to all of the tag players. Any blame for the delay is mine. Your tag packets will go out today. The person is fine, but the packet of tags in missing in the postal services paws. The person is in an area that has good mail service & I know mine is good but some where between their post office & mine, the tags are missing. It is almost 10 days overdue so that's why I am sending the tags so late. Hopefully they turn up in time to be mailed in the next batch of tags. ~C8>

I'm sorry ladies. It was my set of tags that went missing. I mailed them out on the 9th, and they apparently gt lost in the mail, which is very frustrating. They nere arrived to alsmouse's mailbox, and they've not been returned to me. Maybe, hopefully they will show up somehwere sometime. I feel like my "reputation" as a swapper has been tarnished but both alsmouse and I know that this situation has never happened to me before. I sincerely apologize to everyone for the tardiness in receiving your tags.
